this is an amazing album, it's surprising to me that Ian MacKaye is in this band, he's good at everything i say.
i can't say for sure what this song is about exactly, but to me "it's all down hill from here" means that everything is at it's best and things can only get worse now. |

this website is called song meanings, not song bitchings, so now that we've decided that these are either incorrect, or incomplete, can we get on with figuring out the meaning?
it obviously has an aspect of deception in it. and of course "tonight the bottle offers no answers" has an obvious meaning. |

you all DO realize that bing stoned has another meaning other than drugs on pot and all that stuff right? i doubt that it's using (if, in fact it IS using Stoned and not Stone) stoned in the manner to which i am referring, but i don't know. i can't point at any real meaning of this song, but to me it makes me feel like like he's saying basically "i don't need to get high because i have this girl" or something similar, and i have no fucking clue as to whether or not that is how it is intended, but that's kinda the empathetic reception i get out of it. |

i think it's something about one of their close friends being suicidal, and they are saying think about what it would be like to be dead, you'd be alone forever, then they go on to say that they will be there for that person forever. that they will never let that person do that and they want them to be happy. something like that, i'm probably way off, but that's what i got from it. it's a great song. |

the subject of this song, the writer perhaps, went to war, and it's a miserable existance. he misses his significant other, and perhaps hallucinates, maybe, there are many directions it could go. so he says "wish you were here" literally. missing the girl he loves. i'm probably way off . . . but oh well, it's what my first thoughts were on this song. i have thought about it a lot and it could mean so many things on so many different levels. |

well, it's good to hear you love Floater enough to lose your job and break your toe, though it sucks that both happened. i miss the Brickworks.
i'm not sure what this song could be about. sometimes i think that it could be about children being brainwashed... "clean the mind of this plastic baby" and "i'm washing your insides away" makes me think that they are saying that a lot of children are losing their personalities and just becoming a manufactured type of person that is all too common these days. but then i also think that it's another metaphor about drugs or alcohol. "this thing inside of me is growing stronger" and stuff like that sort of point towards some kind of habit (drug/alcohol abuse) driving him a little bit mad. it's spread all through the cd. |

possibly... i don't doubt it, it probably has a couple meanings, like many of Floater's songs. probably something to do with how people in general allow themselves to be enslaved by these drugs, or alcohol (as many songs on the cd point towards alcohol abuse) and thus, being a "pet" of the substance.
i like at the beginning when it says "Only one is a wanderer, two together are always going somewhere" |

i think the bullet is basically figurative. he already considered himself dead and expected to die seen. "when the bang never came and i never got the call" so that's my thoughts on that. what about "and every time i make a point she makes a counterpoint" what is that supposed to mean? |
