I love this song because I can relate, but are you people listening to the same song I am? This song is about anything but feeling good. It's about being alone and hurting. Every verse is about being sad... Did you read the lyrics? Did you listen to the words? Or were you too busy getting drunk or high to hear anything but the damned corrus, which is intended to be ironic. Abandonment - "All good friends, they stood by you. And one at a time (one at a time) They fall down. (they fall down)" Oh yeah, it feels wonderful to be dissed by all your friends. Depression - "I don't want to talk, Don't want to explain it. I don't want to fuck And I don't want to fight. It's only a feeling, It's fleeting, and fading. It's all over the world And It's only tonight.- " How depressed does a guy have to be to not want to fuck???? I don't think I've ever been that depressed. Self-destruction - "It's a perfect time for being wasted. A prefect time to watch the stars. So throw back your head, Come on embrace it. It's a beautiful night wherever you are. It's a beautiful night. A beautiful night, yeah. A beautiful night. A beautiful night to be here." Yeah that'll solve everything, won't it? "Feel good" my ass. This is, to me, one of the best songs ever written. His boss just quit, so he's out of a job. His girlfriend just lost her pregnancy, which has tuned her heart into wood. The things that keep his life together are falling apart. Somewhere inside all this horrible shit that he's faced with, he has an epiphany about human physiology and it's beautiful. I think it helps him understand his life. It's trippy and strange, but it almost makes sense to me. Whatever it means, I love this song. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. |
