Never Lyrics
On through the woods and you go through the snow
Walk to the tree and you breathe on the limb
How many times have you seen me with her
When the night comes and you find that you're bound
Tied to the tree and the straps at your knees
How many times have you seen me with her
I'd say never, aw lover.
Say never, here.
Hide in the willow and wait for the dawn
Carve another dream in the limb that you're on
How many times have you seen me around
I'd say never, aw lover
Say never, here
Here, say never, aw lover
When the sun comes and you find that you're free
Walk to the water and bleed in the stream
And think of the lover that once you were wrapped around
Breathe in the water, breathe it in deep
Just like the winter, fall into sleep
Don't ever wander, don't ever move again
Never, aw lover
Say never, aw lover
Say never, aw lover
Walk to the tree and you breathe on the limb
How many times have you seen me with her
Tied to the tree and the straps at your knees
How many times have you seen me with her
Say never, here.
Carve another dream in the limb that you're on
How many times have you seen me around
Say never, here
Here, say never, aw lover
Walk to the water and bleed in the stream
And think of the lover that once you were wrapped around
Just like the winter, fall into sleep
Don't ever wander, don't ever move again
Never, aw lover
Say never, aw lover
Say never, aw lover

How come more people don't listen to this? Why am I the only person that's made a comment here?
This, like most of their songs, just plain rules.
Yeah, they're fucking incredible actually. Go Die_idiot_die, i'm with you. Rebel Sodville's incredible too, along with the rest.
Agreed.
It's about a woman who is paranoid and convinced that her love is cheating on her, so she follows him, looking around for another woman, looking everywhere he goes for him to be meeting his other woman, but she doesn't find one and he's singing that she could look forever and still never see him around with another girl.
I like this song but not sure what it's about. It's a beautiful song but a guilty pleasure for me cause I thought it a bit morbid. I think he is taking a girl into the woods that he is in love with but does not like him and he has never been with her. He is raping her and he leaves, she gets away but dies-drowning and bleeding. It's awful, but that's the sadness of the song. I can follow SnowNinja, but what about the bleeding and breathing in the water? Does she kill herself?
Has anyone else noticed how much they sound like Nirvana in this song? It's a good song, but it's like they're trying to be another band. I still like almost all of Marcy Playground's stuff.
@bobtot9 I really think it sounds more like Alice in Chains man... listen to Rooster, anyway, this was 97, that grungy sound was in, a lot of people used it, post punk shit, know wat im sayin.

I believe John Wozniak himself stated that the lyrics were about his feelings upon finding out that his girlfriend was sleeping with his best friend.
