| Thrice – Open Water Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Sew me, I don't give shit, but I believe the song is about the guy upstairs. Yes, God. Now if your a hardcore Thrice fan, you would know MOST of Thrices songs are based around Biblical meanings and stories. This one is simply some guys (Sailor, fisherman, navy dude) thoughts on God. Davy Jones and his 'Tithing' would be their 'payback' for their sins when alive and stealing and stuff. "Open water chills me to my bones, but the only place where I feel alive." In other words, The guy is afraid of the UNKNOWN, yet wishes to know more about it... Then the chorus: "I believe the Ocean is much like you...ECT." In other words The ocean is a powerful thing, so is God, he can give and take when you least expect it... Thus, leading to the reason of the song. "Between the devil and the deep blue see, I stare into the abyss." Meaning he would RATHER stare into the ocean (God) Despite the fact he is afraid of it (Him).... That's my interpretation... |

I agree... Main characters dont die until the end... lol... Something tells me Claud in the Co&Ca will die in the end. But thats just me. Anyway. I think Butchie has taken Cecillia to the machine or has ran into the woods and found it and has found out that she killed Arthur. But he doesnt want to kill her due to the fact he is inlove with her. "There's a light in this shed that should help you find your way, And through this door you deserve a beating through the Machine." I think Long-arm had probably found her and tried to kill her but Butchie saved her. "And little did you once know, in the race for the telephone, In the dark they have watched us from here beyond the grave. To bare the mark of His work are the Watchmen of our ways, That which we feels untrue, if it's me then it isn't you." He's basicly explaining people from God that watch over them. Now looking back on a interview of Claudio Sanchez, he says that Jesse died in FFTEOM and has been resurected in NOW time being that TBOA or AW are pased in the future. So thinking about it, he may be explaining the Prise. Anyway. So the father and Long-arm start looking for Cecillia, Butchie and the twins. Somehow Butchie gets hurt or something and cant help her but pleads with the his relatives not to hurt her. So Long-arm starts to mutilate one of the twins and Cecillia starts to scream. With Butchie being infatuated, he hates to see her in pain. So he beats to crap out of of / kills either the father or Long-arm. (stearing more tward the dad) Butchie, Cecillia and the remaining twin run away and i think try to get out of town. Its snowing so the two bodys are covered up by The Missing McCloud Boys... |

My interpretation. Ok. If you read what I had wrote on the Margretville Dance thread, I state that it takes place at the Bleam houses and an actual dance. Well this is basicly the same thing. The dance is almost over Cecilia has left and this may be the last 'slow song'. I agree on the clanks and whatnot at the begining symbolizing the clanks of the machine, so this would mean that the father and the son are watching the mother be ground into "blood". Meanwhile at the dance. The preacher is watching the dance. (maybe its a cathlic school) He has seen the way Cecilia danced and says that he loved it but also, I think that Butchie who is infact inlove with Cecilia i thinking it and watching from somewhere. Someone tells the preacher that he shouldnt think that way. He is promiced to God. Now to Long-arm. I think he may come to tell Butchie that thier father killed their mother. but he see's Butchie slobering all over himself at the sight of Cecilia. So Long-arm lies and says that their mother has asked them to kill her twin brothers. "But should i romove him fromthis curse and cast away? Oh these dirty games I play. Long-Arm, you liar! Go run home to Mama! A good boy never gets to dance" Butchie as you have seen yelled at him in return saying that the twins are 'good boys' and they dont deserve to 'dance'. |

My interpretation... I would have to agree with the "Rock your body" and the "dancing" thing. It may be said in the sence of putting a body into the machine. But for a portion of the song, I think it is actualy at a dance. In the first verse, I think Long-arm and Butchies dad is killing his wife but also, Butchie or Long-arm are watching and may have helped. Because that they kill only 'bad' people. Thier father may have told them that she did 'bad' by stealing his drugs. "To think the better you might have known... with age" So they cant really do anything about it. Meanwhile at the school. There is a dance taking place and verse two is Cecilia and Johnny talking. Cecilla tells Johnny that SHE infact killed Arthur and he says they should tell the truth. She tells her mother Martha and she 'shuns' her. She tells her to go away. So she runs into the woods taking her twin brothers with her. Also the given impression of one of the brothers with the father as they grind up their mother was. "Is this the way you watch the body die" This maybe be the father asking his son if this is how you put the body in the grinder or how to dispose of the body as they do. |

| Coheed and Cambria – The Willing Well II: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| damn... im goin to hav to xplain this agian... this whole cd... is claudio the writer and the character fighting.... claudio sanchez was going to quit the band cause his "girl friend" wanted him to... so he could be with her more or what ever... anyway... claudio sanchez was forever having to fight with himself (or the claudio character as known in the cd) about staying in the band for a little longer to finish the story... sanchez doesnt want to... but the character wont giv it up... the character (in a few songs) is asking him what his fate was... he wants to know what happens... but... the writer doesnt want to finish it... so i still hav no idea if this cd is for sanchez to show us how much crap he went through to continue the story... or is givin us hints that he ISNT continuing... so this is where im in a baot woth no baddles... im just sittin here waiting to hear some good news... | |

"I'll make you wish You hadn't burned our time before I'll live through this In a manner cursed in my own accord (I don't wanna go)" key sentence "(i dont want to go)"... the character doesnt want to end like this... he want to know how he turns out... whats his end... its basicly burning a AWSOME book your only half way through... that sux... well that how the character feels through most of the cd... and all these songs where they are fighting... its makin me think... IS he going to continue???... i shur as hell hope not... |

| Coheed and Cambria – Mother May I Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| oook... first to comment... i realy think this is whereclaudio (in the story) is talkin to sanchez... hes basicly tellin him... "go ahead... leave me... but only after you fans hear the rest of the story... then you can live in peace"... see realy and truely... i dont want co&ca to stop... sanchez has alot goin with his fans and all... most of us look up to him... like myself... do you guys know what i do everyday???... i try to figure out the story... listening to my cd player and writing things down that would make sense of the story... iv even tryd to branch off the story of co&ca... but i didnt continue afiad the sanchez would somhow find out and take me to court for copyright... lol... but i would realy like to hear one more stroy before he lets all of this go... anyone agree??? | |

| that could be it also | |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Suffering Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| well i would hav to say... this is the most bad ass song of all time... i cant realy tell you what this has to do with the story... but it sounds like there is conflict with sanchez and the claudio in the book about the realy claudios girlfriend who askd him to leave the band... when he says, "listen well, will you marry me?" and that would be sanchez ask her to marry him... and then the character is saying, "and are you wearin the suffering?" trying to show claudio that she is putting him through hell... and then then sanchez, "(youve been) the most gracious of hosts"... ant than again the character, "you may be invited gir, but your not comin in"... and its like that throught the song untill the last line... "and your not comin in" which is sanchez saying that "sorry but i aint givin up what i love"... or "this is my job"... but thats just me... cause this cd is basicly about the writer and his relationship to his character... so... lets recap... sanchez and his character are fighting over to leave or stay with with this whore who is trying to break what he loves to do... well be good all... | |
