Lacuna Coil – 1:19 Lyrics 18 years ago
Yes, that is correct. All traces of the existence of the original guitarist have been removed. He misjudged the work he helped create, because he honestly thought that this project could only be successful in Europe (in the vein of bands like The Gathering and Nightwish); but the breakthrough of Evanescence saw an increased interest in Lacuna Coil's music. Also, you have to understand that he was a deeply spiritual man. So rather than engage in vindictive behavior - which he deemed reprehensible - or fight a long court battle over the rights to the music, he simply gave them up. That would be the reason he is never mentioned in print or by the band, but again, I reiterate, that's if you believe what I'm telling you.

I know this is hard for you precious Lacuna Coil fans to imagine but Cristina tried to rule that band with an iron fist from the start. The first band break up probably taught her that it was better to back off, and that team work helps a band to stay together for more than five years. And as a side note, had the band's original lineup remained in place you'd be looking at a vastly multicultural lineup, because that original lead guitarist was an African-American. But this is all neither here nor there, and far too much for all of you to digest. So, I’ll shut up now and let you decide what you believe (at least until somebody makes another smartass comment suggesting that I’m making this up to fuck with people or for attention).

Thanks for responding to the message hyzenthlay, but there is a problem with your question. You see, you asked me where I obtained my info because nothing I said seems to follow up. Well you can't obtain any information unless it it second hand- meaning I was there for these incidents. That means that what you are receiving is information. The only thing that proves what you believe about the band is what has been filtered down to you. The last time people believed main stream media, we were subjected to the likes of Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice. If that isn't evidence enough that you shouldn't believe everything a record company or rock journalism tells you, then I don't what is. I know the truth and I would hope others just realize that this is just another example of the greed and lies in the industry. Hell, be honest - would you like them any less if they weren't from Italy? Nor, should you like them any less because of what I'm saying. It's just a piece of band-lore that most don't know about, and the fans that pursue that bit of knowledge will find out a lot more than what's in the media. I'm not saying this to trash them. I love the band and their work, it's just a bit for the masses- not a load of bull.

Funny you should say that I'm just blowing crap. But if that were so, how do you explain this- I am one of the sole owners of the Lacuna Coil demos. This was when the band was based in New Orleans and were called - Anna In Fear. The original title of the demo was actually "Love Songs for the Dying Heart" which intern was the original title of the song "Cold Heritage". You can believe Cristina if you like, but the fact is, it's more appealing to idiots like you to be fake and say you formed in Italy when you've spent a considerable portion of your life writing music in a garage in New Orleans. And have you ever wondered why Cristina sounds so Americanized in her interviews? Don't get me wrong, I know all of these people and Cristina is really from Italy, as are the rest of the current members, but there is a big chunk of Lacuna Coil history that is just skirted over as if it never happened. And if you ever want proof of what I'm telling you, check the records of a New Orleans Club called the Howlin' Wolf. It's one of the few places that Anna In Fear played under that name.

I happened to have a personal connection to Lacuna Coil, because they have a history that extends far beyond Italy. In fact the original members of the band were based in - get this - New Orleans, LA. The original lead guitarist wrote this song after watching a TV movie about St. Joan of Arc, which directly plays into theories about someone being sentenced to death. The song was originally titled "Wonderful," and the reason it held that title was because the little girl playing the young Joan in the movie kept yelling the phrase, "It's wonderful! Everything is wonderful!"
