I think it's less that he won't help, and mmore that he can't, or feels he can't. Lines like "These broken arms..." and "These busted lungs..." makes me think that he feel unable to do anything to stop whats coming. If you've seen the video, I think it points to the fact that the song is about his mother. The "I can't pretend..." lines make it seem like he wasn't around when she died, and he feels guilty. I don't think he didn't want to help, I think he couldn't, but still fels guilty. |
