Aww now *I* want to say 'big ups' to all of you :P I'm glad you were able to escape that incident Prisoner.I.Was, but it must've been very tough even though you managed to fight him off. People who honestly say this song sucks are either just immature idiots or emotionless shells of a human being. You make my blood boil. Anyway, I first heard this song on a video called 'The Righteous Babes' (directed by Pratibha Parmar, very recommended!). They played this song while showing shots of neon lights of strip bars and it was quite chilling. Tori said in an interview that she now prefers not to perform this song at all her concerts, because of the emotional drain it causes her, as well having to put herself in that kind of mood to sing it. |

Lol this post's turned into a My Chemical Romance forum hasn't it? Another point I forgot to make was that you cannot blame only women for dressing or acting in certain ways - it is mostly all the time the MEN who encourage women to be like that, whether it be their boyfriends, the marketing managers of clothing labels or multimedia tychoons who know that the easiest way to make money is sex. So let's have a lot of sex, right, and get these girls to dance crazy songs about shaking their booties, but make it so that girls are MEANT to enjoy this, like it's the greatest thing in the world to go to the club and have all the boiz to their eyes on you. Somebody made a comment somewhere that should be written in stone and framed - "If women felt good about themselves all the time, the US economy would simply crash." Sometimes you have to pity these women - it's just the way they've been brought up most of their life, they've been brainwashed, and by who? Just becaus a woman is dressed seductively DOES NOT mean she is asking to be raped, nor does she deserve to be violated against her will. A lot of woman who are raped are those who were just minding their own business, walking to school, sleeping inside their house when a total stranger breaks into their house and attacks them, just because they are a woman. Hell, OLD WOMAN AND CHILDREN get raped, and would you say they deserve it? Some people here have commented how their younger sisters like this song. If your little sister was raped, would you shrug and say 'oh well, you shouldn't have had worn that mini skirt in the first place.' Sometimes people use rape as a joke way too often, and it stops being funny after a while. Please think about what you are saying before you make a statement. I like fairyinblacknwhite's interpretation - I never thought of how the two girls could be the same person. My take on this song is that it's actually kinda sexist. Ok, so this guy was once in love with a girl who turned out to be a user and hurt him bad. Later he meets another girl who looks just like her, and maybe she's the sweetest girl on the planet and could've made him very happy but the idiot judges her simply by her looks! She gives a long explanation before she starts performing, warning it has explicit content, but if there are any children or families in the audience, she would be very happy if they could discuss about it afterwards on the way home. If you people listened to Jill Scott THEN you will know what true beauty, confidence and sexiness is. If you're 35 you can tell the difference between dancing to just a fun song and taking the lyrics as how the world works, but 9 year olds can't. I love the start of the song, when you can hear her voice so clearly, and soft and loud at the same time. You can really feel the passion she feels for the one she sings this to.
