hey someone found my lyrics for Gravity on some lyrical page!! so i must say, i have commented too many times, but i sitll wonder what the hell she's saying. So i ordered the Dresden Dolls Companion Songbook and i flipped to Gravity and Amanda writes (it's too long so I'll sum it up for you guys). When amanda went into her early twenties she started having back and neck pains so she went to chiropractors, osteopaths and other back doctors but found no relief and no advice except to go do some stretches or yoga. So why not blame gravity as the problem. "Fuck this gravity shit. If it would just go away, I'd float around abd ne happy as a jellyfish". so maybe because of her neck, hip and back problems she hates gravity for putting so much weight on her but she also writes "I'm not sure what a lot of the lines are about, but they all stem from the general uncomfortable feeling of living in a suffering human body." and for the lyrics for the brdige they're really just random things. and amanda doesn't say what they are really.. but for every song's sheetmusic is a picture of the ORIGINAL lyrics. yeah, this song is about free speech (i am agreeing with anthrax monkey.. anywho... i was also reading on the dresden dolls forum the shadowbox dot net, that most fans are pissed off that when they go to concerts that everyone is screaming stupid shit at the artists, saying how sexy they are and innappropriate things, and screaming along and not singing along. so amanda responded and said that is true and just asking the person nicely would be kind. and on their new album she wrote a song regarding this and it's called Sing. so maybe this song is about free speech, singing and screaming along hence the lyric "you MOTHER FUCKERS you sing somthing!!" and basically singing to everyone, and everything and to the whole world. and jsut SING TO THE TOP OF YOUR FUCKING LUNGS!! who gives a flying fuck if you can't sing?? JUST DO IT!! sadly the song got sorta ruined at the end b/c amanda let's go of the pedal too hard and doesn't allow the chords to fade out... so instead you hear a weird BONG at the very very end of the song |

okay so crammerjam and im_not_jane have really very good ideas... ONE it ain't about no hermaphrodite, AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING ONE! TWO her mother's name isn't Jill, it's Kathy. But i guess because the song is called half jack then the mom should be called jill jsut to make it sound interesting and not I'm HALF KATHYYYYYYYYYYY and HALF JACK. I will just break down what amanda's saying (i have the dresden dolls companion and I'm reading the song meaning for this) so anyway Jack is amanda's biological father. and amanda and her sister allison would go from boston to new york monthly. anyway, she didn't know jack as well as she knew her mother. she "felt no strong connection with him. the realtionship seems arbitrary. why this guy and not some other guy? did he even care who i was and whether i'd been born or not? had he ever wanted me to be born? was i a mistake? a happy mistake? a sad one?" she also wrote this "This wasn't just a song about my mother and father, it was a song about confusion in general.....my confusing biology (Half Jack and Half Kathy), my confused sexuality (the curse of being a dominant kinda woman with serious penis envy) and the questions i had around my conception and birth." |

OW! and yupp.. it's actually "someone tell her, someone get her off!" and blah blah blah then "look I think he's going.. poke him to see if he's moving ok?
