it's interesting that he repeats these lyrics for Boxer, i'm sure there is some sort of symbolic progression there but I'm too lazy right now to think of it. |

"When you're drunk and the kids leave impossible tasks"
I'm pretty sure he said "When your drunk and the kids look impossibly tanned"
which makes more sense with the song |

"yeah its definitely sideways with spines exposed to fear" and its also definitely "broken boys" which is confusing because the first three lines would make a lot more sense if it were "broken books" and it might be "tray" instead of train. The lyrics are pretty ambiguous the way she delivers them...which is amazingly well, god i love emily haines too much. |

this is the most beautiful heartwrenching song i have ever heard, i thought it would be on Ys but it seems to be a secret song for now. Joanna Newsom can write some great 10 minute songs but the simplicity of this songs lyrics make it so profound and beautiful. |

I heard it was talking about growing up and moving away from the whole "Mod" culture for the sake of growing up and being with a girl. The lyrics "bells chime" and "I had things planned" kind of imply that he might want to get married but it didn't work out and now he thinks its best if he just left her with them, which I don't get why he would do that. |

Yeah, something told me as soon as I read the first stanza that it was about Kurt. It's great that just those words can bring up such vivid memories of him with so many people. I love Cat Power, she's great |
