In the beginning, I think Nate is trying to say that he feels as if he no longer has his own identity or his own soul. he wants to fall away from society and to disappear from the public eye and the "sip of wine to sympathize while you're laughing" line, I think thats supposed to mean that he resorts to certain things in order to not let gossip and mockery get to him. When he says: "But on the inside,
I've lost the insight that just might be the truth..." I think he's trying to say that he has forgotten what is real and he's starting to believe all the gossip about him.
but im bored so ill figure out the rest laterr |

and also, doesn't the words alternate between 'bloodlust' and 'bloodloss' at the end? i'm pretty sure its:
bloodlust, bloodlust for this girl
bloodloss, bloodloss for this boy
but hey, thats just what i hear. |

this is one of my favorite songs on the album, and i only just now think that i might know what Nate is singing about. Okay, lets just put Nate as the narrator of the song. In it, I think Nate murders someone important to him and then tries to commit suicide afterwards. I'm not so sure about the suicide part though. But I definately get the vibe that he murdered someone, and tried living with the fact that he was a murderer, and his conscience caught up to him and he was worrying about whether people would find out that he was the murderer or not.
this song might or might not tie in with Insomniatic Meat, where Nate sings about murdering people in his sleep. If people have any other ideas, then definately add. |

dova2000, the first time i listened to the new album, i didn't know how much i liked it, but Finch's new album quickly grew on me. You can't expect them to put out a sequel to what it is to burn. one of the greatest things about bands putting out new albums is to see how they change, and personally I think that Finch has changed a lot and in a good way. There are a lot of albums that i'll buy, listen to and think they're shit, then a few months later, ill listen to it again, and wonder what the fuck i was thinking when i first listened to you. it'll probably grow on you eventually, who knows. |

mmkay, now i'll try to post this in the CORRECT place and not confuse myself.
I dont really feel like going into it, I just wanted to say that psilocybin is a chemical found in magic mushrooms, which is a hallucinogenic drug. |

also, if it helps at all, psilocybin is a chemical found in magic mushrooms, which is a hallucinagenic drug. so that ties in with the paranoia and dementia |

in the beginning it seems as if Nate isn't in control of himself, and that he feels he is being dictated by someone else who has a powerful hold on him. Eventually, he realises that this person isn't how he had pictured them to be, in saying that the demon lived in them. He realises that he wants to free himself, and he tries to stand up for himself but in trying to do so, the person trying to control him refuses to listen to what he has to say and ends up deserting him before they can even find out how he feels, and in the end he ends up feeling bad, wondering where the person went and why they don't want to listen to what he has to say. |

| Finch – Brother Bleed Brother Lyrics

sounds to me like the narrator(whether it really is Nate, or just his muse) was betrayed by their partner, and they have to "hold their pride" and try to love their partner the same as before they betrayed him.
sifting seasons through the sun
spitting treason into your hand
that line states somewhat clearly that basically "over time, they betrayed Nates/the Narrator's trust in them" |

i may be way off on this, but to me, i think that figuratively speaking, there's something that's not right in Nate's life and he figures out that it's because of a certain person. So he decides to take matters into his own hands and he goes after the person who's creating problems for him. |
