| Alkaline Trio – Trucks And Trains Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is totally not about suicide, as many people seem to think... It's saying that you should try to be happy with your life, because the grass on the other side may be greener, but you're never going to get there, and if you keep wanting something you can't have, it just makes your own life seem worse and worse... If you don't think about what more fortunate people have, your own living conditions might not seem quite so bad. The lines: "What they say of the grass on the other side's true, too much time looking up's turning everything blue" conveys that point. I think it's also saying that you have to wait untill death is staring you right in the face, before you realize how valuable life is... |

| Foo Fighters – With Arms Wide Open Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Creed's songs all sound the same, and the songs all use very simple, easy to understand lyrics with no deeper meaning to sell to the simpler folk who are blind enough to enjoy music that has no inner meaning. I commend Foo Fighters for royally BASHING Creed. | |
| Foo Fighters – Up In Arms Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song was obviously written for me and my girlfriend. We were together for 3 and 1/2 years, and I broke up with her, out of fear of my future (or lack thereof), but I wanted her back, and now I have her back, and I'm the happiest guy in the world. |

| "Blue Carolina", "Rooftops", "Queen of Pain", and "While you're Waiting" are all HWM songs that Alk3 remade/covered. There may be others that I'm not remembering/aware of.. | |

| Alkaline Trio – My Friend Peter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The song is told from the perspective of a guy who'd rather be dead than think about his girl that left him for another guy. Peter is St. Peter in heaven. When he says "I'd much rather be drinking anyway with my friend Peter who lives so fucking far away" he's saying that he'd rather be dead than worry about what she's doing with this other guy. It's not about suicide, he's just saying he doesn't really give a crap. St. Peter lives "so fucking far away" but not as far as this girl metaphoricly, because she's just always refusing to keep in touch with him, or open herself up to him. In the back of his mind he really is thinking about her, but he doesn't really want to admit it. and all the beers he wants to drink would kill him, and he's thinking he might be better off that way anyway. |

| Alkaline Trio – Continental Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| oh, and the "Bouncing boy" and "baby blue" stuff is about him once being a happy kid, evidently he knew this person since childhood, and now he's sad (blue) because his best friend is gone. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Continental Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The way I see this song is like this. Matt is singing about a friend that was always really lucky. He was always in these near-death experiances (You had nine lives and one by one you chewed them up) But one time an accident happened, and his friend died. (your final coffin nail's been driven far too much) Now the singer is sad, because he feels this shouldn't have happened to his friend, because he was such a nice, perfect guy. (So close to perfect, swear to hell, thought it was you. This bouncing baby boy's now turning baby blue ) And he regrets not being able to say goodbye, and feeling like he should have helped. (Ran out of time, no kiss goodbye. He's in denial (Wish I could learn to let this sleeping dog die without lying to myself ) |

| Alkaline Trio – Trouble Breathing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is an anti-suicide song. It sounds like the singer is talking to a friend, and they're really upset about something. They're either going to hang him/herself, or drink thier problems away. But the last line is the part about coping. "Don't forget to let your life rot you inside out" It's like a sarcastic way of saying "Enjoy life, don't let it's little problems (things 'never work out right') make you want to die." | |
| Alkaline Trio – I Was A Prayer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
these are copied verbatim from the book, read it before you post lyrics! I am waiting 'till there's nothing left I'm a prayer, all you see is breath I ampty, I am skin and bones, I'm a rib cage I am out the door with apathy But I'm coming home with sympathy I am realized, I am shamed, I choose to stay here (Below is where most the the errors are, I don't know why, the words are NOT hard to understand, but keep in mind, I'm sill using the book!) You got a sign, so I paid a ransom You felt sorry, so I felt a wrath come Had a nice grip on my life 'til you twisted my arm There's a song I love so much I stole Every precious note I took I sold Now I pit out words. Do you see my lungs on the dance floor? To a hopeless cause I sold my soul A romantic plastic peice of shit you can mold Untill I break into chockable pieces I open up like the back of a book I ruin everything with just a quick look And I settle down like a rocket explodes Hit the ground, but how far out who knows You got a sign, so I paid a ransom You felt sorry, so I felt a wrath come Had a nice grip on my life till you twisted my arm |
