I definitely can relate to the storyline of this song.. wake up, alone, and prepare for the day ahead. I make sure I'm always occupied doing something so "I don't have to think about thinking". But just as I feel myself becoming happy, it vanishes as the day ends.. everything is winding down, I'm not busy anymore, and so he's on my mind. Then I dream about him.. only to be reminded of the fact that he's not here when I wake up.. alone.

That line is so much like a situation of mine: me in a "relationship" with someone who can't understand why I'm running away from being committed, when in fact I just can't completely let go of a past love, ie. "what's inside [me] never dies". Yes, this present fella is "holding" me, but that's all he can do really. He doesn't have my heart, as it belongs to that one man that stole it. |

I can't believe I've never heard this song until today.. but then again I'm not a country fan at all. That doesn't matter though, because this song is amazing. I wish I was listening to it when I was in this crummy situation some months back. |

It is short, but it's short and sweet. This was the first song I heard off the album besides the two singles she has out already and it's simply amazing. Definitely a song I'll be listening to for a good while. |
