think its about children sent to bootcamps by their parents. there they get raised and educated and raise and educate themselves by doing hard work, just to learn how it is not to do whatever you want. those camps exist in northern europe, like norway. i dont know about alaska but there those camps might as well exist. but these lyrics might have a more subliminal meaning as well. |

I think this song is about Phils father, who died years ago. He has a tattoo that says "Rodney", which is his fathers name. "On my sleeve i will see, your name before mine" that describes that he sees "Rodney" on his sleeve and thinks of "Rodney Labonte" instead of "Phil Labonte" |

I think this song is about life. You get born in a thin line you have to live, take the interests others teach you as your own and get taught an opinion. "confined freedom guides us to security" - I think this line says that if we are controlled we somehow feel more secure. This song is also about war i think, because soldiers are send to war compelled to fight for the upper who hve the might to control them and send them to war. This is a very political song i think. And by tragedy we realize that nothing we are taught must be right and we start to ask ourselfes moire than if we get taught what we get taught and our whole life runs well. |
