"I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve" - oh this line for some reason makes me think of the Egyptians of how they would mummify people and remove the brain by inserting a hook up their nose and scooping it out. So all i can picture during this line is seeing this man blow his nose, weird and randomn? you tell me. Great song though, just watched !0 things i Hate about You and heard this song and downloaded it. (That movie has a great soundtrack by the way, he he, isn't it awesome that it is a modern day version of Shakespear's "Taming of the shrew"? he he, awesome song once more..... |

| Tears for Fears – Call Me Mellow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| nocheapthrill, i agree with the wrong lyrisc up there. I mean i didn't have th original but if you listen to it, it sounds more just like you said. And plus with the worng lyrics up some don't make sense, and the correct ones do. Anyways i love this song, and for some strange reason it makes me think of that song by the La's called "There she goes" maybe the beat is similar but the songs feel some how alike. Anywho, great song, i love to soo much!^ ^ | |
| Tegan and Sara – You Wouldn't Like Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| you met one of them!!! geez you're lucky....well i don't think it's online or distant relationship etc, why would someone write a literal song? A song is poetry with a tune so why that? No i agree self-esteem issues too, and obviously another person in there life, i think it's not like a far away relationship. But maybe that this pereson is hiding what they're really like, they want to hide it from them becuase they think if they really knew them they would not like them. (wow, that's a lot of thems and theys lol) anywas, you know? YOu hide the true self because you love someone and don't want to scare them away! lol, yeah that's what i think..... | |

| The Shins – Mine's Not A High Horse Lyrics | 20 years ago |

how do you guys know he's even talking about a girl?? it never says 'she' and it never says 'he' so you can't say. i don't think it has anything to do with a relationship. i think it's more about rank and status. the line "when your high horse dies" i believe to be as in high rank, your high up in class as opposed to the person who is lower rank. He, to me, is talking about someone who is losing their postion and is falling down the ladder of class because he is so arrogant and pompus. -will i watch your convictions, melt like ice cubes in an ocean. meaning he's making assumptions because he is opposing him, and wil he stick to see how his convictions break down to nothing. -you've got them all your side, that just makes more doubt to slaughter meaning because he is so 'high in position' people back him, thinking he's great and the more people that support him the more others will believe him. -you see no one is wise enough to turn this ancient boat around ancient boat-is the policy in which everyone's put their faith into which is bull, it's old and thought well of, no one is wise enough to see this system can't work and the 'holdy water thing' doesn't have to have anything to do with relgion, i think it's symbolizes somehthing that appears to everyone else to be 'holy' or sacred to them. and the 'water' in 'holy water' meaning like kill him on his own ground. holy water like a baptists, sacred where he was really 'born' his own territory. not really holy though. Alot of this song is metaphorical, why shouldn't that be too? -will you remember my reply , when your high horse dies? meaning will you remember these words, my advice, when you fall to the bottom of the class because of what you've done. -we sharde some information, we might not rcover from meaning they spoke and had some quarrles and the higher class one just ended having a grudge against the other. He wouldn't believe he was 'falling out of the van' in some terms 'falling' losing place, 'the van' as in the defintion 'a company of moving people or preparing to move forward' it's not just a vehicle people! Moving people like getting more rich or higher, 'falling out of the van' lagging behind, statying and falling behind. in my conclusion i stil believe this has all to do with class and rank, those who dissagree with support...at least you have that. |

| Joni Mitchell – Both Sides Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is one of the only songs i've ever cried when hearing. It's so sad, very regretful, i love the line "And if you care...don't let them know...don't give yourself away..." a line i can relate to. It sounds regretful, i don't know how to explain it...almost nostalgic. It sounds to me, when i hear like...just life...living...the good and bad...childhood memories, adult hood...like the way you saw everything as a child and when everything turned to bull and the naive little girl dissappeard with reality taking it's place. Seen the good, seen the bad...i can't explain it...how much i love this song. | |
