| GWAR – Fishfuck Lyrics | 20 years ago |

They're just being good ol' GWAR. ^.^ These songs would be fun to write, because they're so ludicrous. I wonder if that's how they're intended? |

| GWAR – Anti-Anti-Christ Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
If they're anti-anti-christ, does that mean that they're for christ? Just a thought. I figure they're against the anti christ, but for themselves. Interesting concept. |

| GWAR – Captain Crunch Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Well, I dunno. I thought it was funny. And the first verse seems to be a bitter, brutal play on society, like a good handful of GWAR's stuff. |

| VNV Nation – Beloved Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Many people have used death as the interperetation for Beloved. Perhaps that is true, but I find that it is open for personal interperetation. When I hear it, I think not of literal death, but of a figurative one. Letting go, separation, yet the participants in these actions still live, turning away from each other. I had to do this, and I discovered this song in the midsts of my agony. I had to close off feelings for a guy who still remains one of my best friends to this day. "no pain remains, no feeling" I shut off the pain, all the feelings, to let emptiness grow, so that the grounds would be fertile for friendship without a relationship-sort of attatchments. On my end, it worked, on his... not so well. ^.^ |

| VNV Nation – Airships Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
In agreement with many of the people on here, Airships is one of the most beautifully composed VNV songs, and invokes incredible emotions, the sharpest in me being lonliness. Merely listening to Airships sends images through my mind, and recalls supressed memories. In contrast to a few people, I found this song not to be about religion, but instead, when I listened I saw myself in an airplane, as the first verse vividly describes, and slowly I could see a woman reflected in the windows of the skyscrapers, her face warm and inviting. She smiles and stretches her arms to the millions of people crowding the streets, also gazing upward in wonder at her. Perhaps she is a figurehead, a political leader, a mother-figure for a nation of lost children. Perhaps she represents my longing for completion, acceptance, forgiveness. Perhaps she is merely a fleeting face of someone in the future I have yet to meet. Whoever she is, she is stunningly beautiful in an elegant way, dressing modestly and simply. The multitude reaches out to her, and so do I, and the glass dissapears. I step into the unknown, and find myself walking through the air toward the woman. For the final minutes of the song I fly towards her, gracefully, slowly, and then our hands touch, and the song ends. |

| Iced Earth – Violate Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| When you hear this song on the Alive in Athens collection... ah... wow. The audience is amazing. If you make a mix, put the live version of Violate on it instead of the studio version. | |
| Iced Earth – Brainwashed Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It might mean Christianity, say you... but I find that this song encompasses both Christianity and the modern society of today. "It seems very odd to me How you sin and feel so free And all you have to do is say Forgive me ... I believe" We are pushed by society to sin and indulge ourself, and pushed by religion to reconcile for these sins, but no sooner do we leave the confessional, society assaults us with sin again. |
