this haunting, and wonderful, and depressing, and one of my favorite daniel johnston songs.

Regina Spektor – Ghost of Corporate Future Lyrics 19 years ago
"he steps right into somebody's fat loogie
and everyone who sees him says, ewww"

i love those lines, and the simplicity yet effectiveness of the message of this song. despite its subject, the tone of the song makes me so hopeful. i don't know, i guess there are always chances to start living your life, is what i mean.

Is it just me, or does Kelly Osbourne's One Word sound insanely like this song?

The Killers – Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll Lyrics 20 years ago
This is one of my least favorite Killers song, although I do kind of like that it is taking a stab at the whole indie thing.

It's kind of hilarious though...apparently a lot of people in the UK took this song seriously. It either pissed them off or they loved it. Like an indie anthem of sorts.

Death Cab for Cutie – Champagne from a Paper Cup Lyrics 20 years ago
I think ciao meow's explanation makes a lot of sense, actually.

DCFC's music is really good at setting a mood. This song depresses for a few minutes whenever I hear it, even if I'm in a good mood at first.
