After reading the corrected lyrics I believe its about to people, freezing to death.
It's cold, snowing,
blue light, dusk settles.
A fire burns with failing light
against the growing darkness.
(This pretty much sets the tone of where they're at.)
Bending over the dying flames

(They're struggling to keep the fire alive, literally, to keep warm but that person is there with him and she always is)
Through the fluttering veil of frozen blue
A (hooded) figure cuts its path to cleave the night in two.
Pull its outer husk from its body and the rest escapes.
(When I hear this part, I just imagine death walking up to these frozen bodies)
and there upon the ground...
the remnants of our struggle.

(This part I always imagine just ash of a failed fire.)
This song is really dope cause it can be taken as so many way.
To me this song is straight forward and is exactly the way a love song should be written. |

To me this song is about Chi and someone trying to pursue someone who just got out of a real serious relationship (Relax your arms and let me in, but pack your heart you might need it) and to me "I will save your life" means this persons is telling them I will save you from yourself.
In turn they tell them, "I'm confused some, but I think I can try, I will try for you" |

To me this song seems like he's trying to breake thru a girl's shell that she has put up, but she won't let him thru:
"and you feel the spiral turning for you alone
and you feel so heavy that you just can't stop it
when you see your madness turns you into stone "
He's tried for a year hence: "when the seasons circle sideway without a turn"
So once he realizes there's no point he burns bridges with her:
"you're just in time to watch the fire burn "
