They act as if the fact axl is older and therefore is not the same he was back in the 80's is somethin unusual. Well, guess wat, everybody grows old. Go see a Gn'R concert this year and you'll see what a 44 year old can still do with the greatest rock band ever. Just a song about many things that happen that can be pretty shitty, such as realizing u friends despise u, that u'r so low that u can't even find ur tongue which is pretty bad actually, and ultimately, realizing u'r gonna die young cuz the life u'r living can only take u to that. and the most important thing i have to say, this song rocks, absolutely. but GN'R cover of it is WAAAAY better than the original version. Dead boys' original is amazing right, but u can't compete with anything played by guns n roses right? ;> |

Well, the whole Pink Floyd thang is about the machine, this fake world that obliges us to go to school everyday and makes everyone learn the same things, feel the same feelings, go through the same process... that's the machine that controls me, school. and what it does to people. i believe a good reading for pink floyd's lyrics fans would be John Taylor Gatto's book provided with toys and 'Scouting for Boys'. the scouting for boys thing is a little lame... i mean, i'm a scout :O take care^^ |

This is one of my fav Gn'R songs. I think the lyrics are all about axl, as most of the band's lyrics are. I think many words in this song describe how axl really felt about life and the problems he always had dealin with people, such as right in the beggining when he says: When you're talkin' to yourself and nobody's home You can fool yourself You came in this world alone And if you watch the video, its like he wants to show the world and his fans he feels totally apart from the world and that no one really understand. I see that in the scenes where he is home alone, hiding from the police and later, being arrested. but what really got into me is the scene when he is walkin alone by rainbow bar "I'm out here on my own, and drifting all alone". man, he's so into his little world that he dives in this huge sea and refuses to be rescued by gilby :| and finally, some words that, for me, sum up the whole thing about guns n roses and they way it all ended... "I never wanted it to die" ;) |
