I don't agree. I think it's about someone wanting to be with someone they can't be with, because they're already with someone and can't compromise their morals for the other person.
I think the other person feels it too, and knows how they feel, so the feelings are 'distinctly plain', and they're both suffering, so thats the 'did you wish for your pain' because they fell in love with someone who was already taken, and it's not their fault. And every time they see each other they know and feel sad so the 'solemn glance' is them looking at each other and sharing feelings but not being able to take hold of it.
The 'wish i could have faltered' part and the 'i just wish we all could betray' is how the first person feels, wishing they could compromise their morals and be strong enough to be weak for love, but they can't. x |

This song reminds me of waking up with my friends after a party. It kinda seems to me that he wakes up with this girl who he really likes and is probably his friend, like a best friend to relationship thing, and maybe she has a respective other, but they both really like each other. He's laying himself bare and telling her how he feels and shes hesistating which leads to an arguement until they realise how they feel. Aw im such a romantic lol, probably not what everyone else thinks. I always listen to this after a party, its chilled and its awesome. |

i know its all about a wife killing her husband but i think its the reason why she does it that makes this song so fantastic. She feels so trapped and desperately wants to break free from a fake enviroment. Its my favourite so/co song i absolutely love to listen to it especially when im feeling down its just so heartwrenchingly beautiful.
