Cradle of Filth – Her Ghost In The Fog Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with what pretty much everyone has been saying. And yes, that is Doug Bradley aka "Pinhead" from Hellraiser. He's also supposed to be narrating some other albums by Cradle. Good shit, it's been a while since I listened to this stuff, but def good to hear it every now and then.

Dream Theater – Never Enough Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah, I agree, the song is most likely about harsh fans out there that aren't die hard enough to love -anything- DT puts out.

And as previously stated by another member, if they walked away, I would cry, especially if it happened before I got a chance to see them live. Er, it would be murder!

Dream Theater – A Change of Seasons Lyrics 20 years ago
I'd like to think that this song was mostly about "seizing the day." But there is a direct reference to the poem "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time" by Robert Herrick, in which the first stanza is:

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying."

I don't care how you look at this poem, it's saying "Let's make love before you and I are too ugly." So, my reflction on this song is still a little unclear, but it is a musical masterpiece.

I love how they mention many of their album names in the lyrics.

Manowar – Warriors Of The World United Lyrics 20 years ago
Uhh... They're talking about a "war" between "True Metal" (Them) and false metal (everyone else). It's kind of ironic because a lot of people think Manowar is the cheesy hairband of Heavy Metal.

Symphony X – The Odyssey Lyrics 20 years ago
Good say, dylan. I'm not sure, but I think "Ulysses" is the more modern version of his name, which is Odysseus. And yes, on his voyage home from the Trojan War, he is lost at sea with his crew. Long story short, he goes to North Africa, gets high on opium, sails North, finds an angry cyclops who makes him and his crew stomp grapes to make wine, and then comes the sirens and so on... And yes, when he returns home, he totally owns the "blasphemers."

In regards to the movie, Troy, it is sort of narrated by Odysseus (played by Sean Bean) which lead me to think that they would later make a movie titled "The Odyssey" as a sequel, which follows Odysseus' late adventures. But I think my hopes have been let down.

Anyway, great song to compliment the epic tale. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Pretty rockin' song about a massive religious cult suicide.

Unholy Trinity – Fall of Thor Lyrics 20 years ago
Not quite sure about the true meaning behind this song.

I know Alex aka Sodom, the drummer, pretty well and I know he and Vic (guitarist) are pretty into Norse mythology and the like. UT is definately a metal band that could go places. If you haven't heard these guys, look for some of their stuff online, it's bad ass for a young band them like them.

Lollipop Lust Kill – Knee Deep In The Dead Lyrics 20 years ago
I believe this song is about the PC-shooter Doom. "Knee Deep in the Dead" is a name of a level in Doom and theres the "You’re all doomed, you’re all doomed…” In the end. Also, I note that this song makes me want to play a shooter-game...
