i agree with flagg. the only real connection is "oh my dear" which roland says upon hearing the thinny, as it reminded him of susan. otherwise, it's too vague to be about dt, since usually the lyrics reference specific things from the novel. |

it's posible this song is about milton's "paradise lost" an epic from the mid 1600s that details the fall of satan and of man. much like in paradise lost, we see here not only satan's attitude "better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven" and desire to destory god's creation, but also his pain, and his "lust for light" as seen plainly in books 2 and 4 of paradise lost |

also about stephen king's "dark tower series." it's about a monorail train, named blaine, who is losing his/its sanity and only loves riddles. he makes a dead with the gunslinger and his ka-tet that if they can give him a riddle he can't solve, he'll take them through the wastelands safely. if not, he's going to derail at the end and kill them all. |

can't say as i enjoy this song as much as the others, but it's not bad at all. it's about oscar wilde's "the picture of dorian gray" which is about a young man who wishes for a portrait of him, drawn by someone who loves him, to age and for him never to grow old. dorian becomes corrupted and all of his age and sins show up on the portrait. |
