Heaven Denies Lyrics
I've stained the land
Milleniums I've prayed
Now I know there's no release
Since paradise is lost
I hold a crown
I know your name
But I am just your
Fallen angel of doom
[pre-chorus:]
Thus heaven denies
Refused for all times
I am not guilty at all
[chorus:]
Deadlands, Wastelands
Darkness will cover my mind
And oblivion shall reign
I made up my mind
And oblivion shall reign through the night
Deadlands, Wastelands
Darkness will cover my mind
And oblivion shall reign
Still we are one, you and I
Realize, I did what you wanted me to
The lack of pure souls and the fading light
It's me you blame
First there was light
Then came the night
Cruel nothingness
[pre-chorus]
[chorus]
Hope turns to despair
There's no one in these barren lands
The lust for light
I'm sure that it will fade
It will fade
Spiritus Sanctus
The lust for light
I'm sure that it will fade
Spiritus Sanctus
Eternal hell

This song is amazing.. the vocals blow me away
This song is simply about satan being damned to the barren wastelands of hell. But instead of torture, he is doomed to pure darkness and nothingness. He is full of lust for light.
wow..the last part of the song...the slow rumbling of guitar is simply beautifull.. schaffer and hansi have done great justice to this song..
Shoot sorry... this is the wrong song... my mistake
it's posible this song is about milton's "paradise lost" an epic from the mid 1600s that details the fall of satan and of man. much like in paradise lost, we see here not only satan's attitude "better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven" and desire to destory god's creation, but also his pain, and his "lust for light" as seen plainly in books 2 and 4 of paradise lost
This is about Lucifer who is cast out of heaven at the very beginning and banned to the barrened wastelands "Hell" which is Earth by the way, so he roams the wastelands and he will have his Vengeance to God because I quote: "And oblivion shall reign"
Rainbow, you lookin' for My Last Sunrise? :p
It's been said enough, but this is about Satan's banishment to Hell, from his point of view.
This song sounds more like Iced Earth than any other Demons & Wizards song, I believe. So awesome.
Even though it isn't this song could have been about how Judas sold out to the romans and betrayed Jesus. I always thought that was it since I first heard it. For example the chorus ''I made up my mind, and oblivion shall reign through the night'' when he decides to do it and the verse ''Still we are one, you and I, realize, I did what you wanted me to'' Jesus encouraged Judas to point him out for the romans so that his spirit could have release. In the end Judas commits suicide when the guilt takes over. Thus ''The lust for light, I'm sure that it will fade. Spiritus Sanctus, eternal hell.''
This is the last song in the trilogy that starts with Tear Down the Wall... here's a quote from the site:
The three songs tell the bleak story of the fictious character Azrael, a gnome. Azrael is the creator of the entire universe. He becomes weary of his creation and wants to undo that which he has done so he and a companion begin a journey through the universe. Azrael dissolves his creation bit by bit, including himself and finally lets his companion return alone to create a new universe for himself.
