I love this song.
Let's all meet up in the year 2008, though. We've missed our chance otherwise. |

| Elton John – Candle In The Wind '97 Lyrics

Conspiracy theory for y'all:
Elton John decided to write a song about Princess Diana, and came up with this. He then realised that he'd probably outlive her and so would never get to perform it so he followed her through Paris and crashed her car off the road. Or, he buggered the Duke of Edinburgh then told him to kill Princess Di or he'd tell the News of the World.
What you reckon? |

| Take That – Back For Good Lyrics
|
In the beginning, he guesses now it's time for him to give up. He feel's its time, but he's got a picture of you beside; me got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup. In addition to this, he's got a fist of pure emotion and a head of shattered dreams. It's a shame really, cos he's gotta leave it, gotta leave it all behind now.
Whatever he said, whatever he did, he didn't mean it. He just wants you back for good (Wants you back, wants you back, wants you back for good). Whenever he's wrong just tell him the song and he'll sing it - you'll be right and understood (Wants you back, wants you back)
He wants you back for good.
Later on, - unaware but underlined - he figured out the story. Unfortunately, it wasn't good. But in the corner of his mind he celebrated glory - but that was not to be, because in the twist of separation you excelled in being free. Can't you find a little room inside for him?
Then, he goes on to reiterate that he just wants you back for good and he'll sing any song when he's wrong.
And you'll be together, this time is forever. We'll be fighting and forver you will be so complete in our love you will never be uncovered again, he hopes.
Because this is quite a hopeful thought, he again reiterates that he just wants you back for good, before ending with the quite shocking claim that he guesses now it's time that you came back for good. If only he'd said earlier.
Just my thoughts :P |

| The Killers – Somebody Told Me Lyrics

I think - and I must stress this is only a guess - but I think that somebody told him that you had a boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend that he had in February of last year.
Its not confidential, and he's got potential (rushing and rushing around).
So its ok.
At least thats what I think... |

Great song. Think its about someone who fancies someone that he doesn't stand much of a chance of getting, and thinks about going to see her whilst he's out and about. He tries to impress her with shit like his T-Shirt Suntan. She's obviously older and he gets a bit shy when he actually sees her. Situation I'm sure we've all been in.
The line "outta touch out of luck" is almost as if he's been rejected, although the rest of the song seems very happy and all about his undying love "kill for you".
Really summery tune for me, reminds me of a similar situation I was in in the park last year, the line "he'd really like to get it together before the twelve of never" means a lot to me. Reminds me of some good times, especially when he's too shy to speak to her. Plucks up the courage though, and its a very inspiring song |

| Elton John – I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues Lyrics

ive never really thought this song was amazing, but having just listened to it for the first time in ages i can really relate to it.
its bizarre because its kinda 'summery' outside and this takes me back to some great times i had last summer, especially the line
'Time on my hands could be time spent with you'
a beautiful song, im slightly sad that i can relate to it though because that line makes me think about how different things could be now if id have taken my chances last summer.
theres so many lines i can relate to, its unbelievable. this song is great.
Ah well! theres always next year! |

| Robbie Williams – Kids Lyrics

interesting fact about this song:
robbie really fancies kylie minogue. one night, he was lying in bed and decided to ring her and ask her to come round (for obvious purposes). however, she was in bed with her boyfriend at the time, which really embarassed robbie. to make up for it, she said she'd duet with him. they joined together, and came up with this. 100% true. |

i'm pretty sure i've heard robbie say its about the coke thing but i like candycat's idea. he's created a very vivid image in many peoples heads, about this song. the first couple of verses are about his constant contradictions of himself, to the media and to himself. |

it's all about a world tour and all the places visited. he's been looking forward to meeting his girlfriend but then realises that its been better whilst they're apart and they'll end up shouting. as much as he wants to see her, its nice to be out(!) |

has the person who put these lyrics on not thought that as the title is 'PUMPING on your stereo' that the lyrics might say the same, instead of HUMPING on your stereo? great song though |

oh yeah i forgot to say that the way this bloke walked reminded jones of how charlie chaplin walked. the 9.15 bit is the time he walked past, and the name-calling bit is about kids who used to take the p*ss out of him, and the rest of the community who were concerned about him being alone at such an old age |

| Stereophonics – A Thousand Trees Lyrics

i can confirm that the song is about a schoolgirl who was raped by a well-respected PE teacher. when she told her parents, they didn't believe her at first because he'd taught everyone they knew! it turned out he had (or at least he was accused), then ended up going back to teaching but the kids (growing seeds) didnt believe that he'd been on holiday. his reputation was dented, so he quit. The line 'it only takes one tree to make 1000 matches, only takes 1 match to burn 1000 trees' is saying it took 1 teacher to teach 1000 kids down the years, but just 1 of those kids could dent the reputation of 1000 teachers. that is 100% genuinely true about what the song is about. |

its definitely (kelly jones said) about a little old man who lived near him who no-one really knew anything about but this guy always walked past jones' window in the same clothes at the same time each day, and then sat at home in his rocking chair in his front room |

| Stereophonics – Have A Nice Day Lyrics

its a brilliant song about a boring bloke, but the 'Have a Nice Day' bit is a way us British view the Americans. it is a reference to the politeness the Americans show towards visitors, even if they don't like them, as demonstrated in the rest of the lyrics. |

anyone noticed that the 'walk on water, water into wine bit' also features in 'Moviestar' off the re-released version off YGGtCB? He seems to sample a lot of lyrics off older songs on this album. not a bad thing though ;-) |
