Alright, so GreenCorn41's line of the first line is good. Thinking about this song, the end is really funny to me. First lines are a butcher killing an animal. I swear I did my best to ensure that His final moments were swift and free from fear Last Lines are propagandhi (figuratively) killing Sandor Katz. I swear I'll do my best to ensure that Your final moments are swift and free from fear AND THEN They kill him with a guitar solo !! Ahh a good way to die... This is a great song, and the point is obviously that its not ok to be "post-vegetarian" and go back to eating meat after being a vegetarian, as Katz says in a book. Katz wishes people would just go back to eating meat, so Prop says be careful what you wish for... It may come knocking on your door. And then the song has some door knocks where they enter his house and kill him (with the gnarly shred) Great album. |

sinnedoh=correct. i too loved the demos more than the album (ESPECIALLY other side of the crash, no comparison there) but i definitely agree with the metaphor of the dying father being represented by falling autumn leaves as they die and leave the family tree. excellent song, instrumentals (at least on the demo) are excellent, they actually go with the song perfect-ly. |

saline...from reading the lyrics to this song, it has to have something to do with faith and religion. the only way it can do that in these lyrics like geoff and you said with using people for sex would be for a priest or something to have taken over a child physically. either geoff was abused as a child by a priest (probably not), or he witnessed someone else get raped when he was little, and the priest always said it would be ok. now he realized what was happening when he was littler and is wondering how believable these figures actually are. seeing them on the 22nd. lets see what he said. i saw them 2 years ago and they were EXCELLENT. wow. best show ever. lets hope they are still good at a big thing like warped. |

obviously this song is about the problems within the church and how geoff may think "how can i believe in these people (fathers) if they do such horrible things such as raping children" "found your faith behind your fathers car" - the church father raping a child "keep tearing open bodies 'let it bleed' tonight" - virgin rape. of course raping a little girl would bleed badly. the father is saying it would be ok "holy holy lift up your dress" hmm rape. "Tie this sin between your teeth" - dont tell anyone the father raped the girl "This is all we’ve ever known of God Fight with me Let me touch you now!" hmm rape again. he is just wondering how he can believe these "holy people" (fathers) if they are so hypocritic in what they say and do such terrible things. not sure what 'sugar in the sacrament' means though. maybe something about how the children are the only reason fathers are in the job in the first place. donno. |

I don't know about this album...the last one was pretty good, but there are now people ^^^ listening to finch that listen to modern rock bs like trapt and linkin park. This scares me and makes me not want to buy this cd. Also in the new song...all that impressed me were the guitar parts, not the vocals, not the drumming...i'm scared about this album ! This song means so much to me. I never knew that it was about a Vietnam vet, but it reminds me of my friend named Daniel who died in a car crash last Mother's Day. I always took "Spain" to represent "Heaven" somehow, and for some reason the rest of the song seems to make sense with that. When Elton John sings "God it looks like Daniel...must be the clouds in my eyes" this is just what I feels like when I have a dream and Daniel is in it. The "pain of the scars that won't heal" speaks of the injuries that he recieved at the time of the car crash, and after seeing him in the wake, this song made that much more sense to me.
