| Bear vs. Shark – Ma Jolie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
No comments! Bear vs. Shark just broke up last month which sucks. However, in their honor I have been giving them more and more listening. This song is outstanding. "This is a poem" Says it all for me. This song has an almost indescrenable meaning. Maybe about beauty and perfection vs. violent unstability. I have no idea. Beautiful |

| Near Forever – Start Over Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Politicians lie here, failure is not an option, blood paints the wall, sand in my dreams... "Stamp out evil" War. I listened to this song a lot, and submitted the lyrics. But until I paid attention to the greater meaning of the song I didn't get it. I'm pretty sure it is about war, and if I had to guess (sand in my dreams) it is about our current involvment overseas. |

| Cursive – Making Friends and Acquaintances Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Meaning is lost on me, since I have no understanding of Domestica's "plot" or of the band's member's relationship histories. Amazing song though, just subtle excellence in a mesmerizing skin of vacancy intermindlged with passion. |

| Converge – Drop Out Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is possibly my favorite off of You Fail Me, and I didn't know it until I saw them at the Stone Pony in Asbury park. To me, the song seems to be an observer's witness to two people's lives being ruined because they think they can survive if they have each other. But the cannot escape their demons, and watching them fail hurts just as much for the observer as it does the two people. Could be that the observer is one of the people, but the last few lines make me think not, unless he is looking back on his failure. Personally, the riff at the end, along with the lyrics that were left out above, "DROP OUT DROP OUT DROP OUT" raise the hair on the back of my neck everytime I listen to this song. Fuckin amazing |

| I'm from MA, just north of Boston, you? | |
| Bear vs. Shark – Second Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Best part is when the lyrics end and the real music part of the song begins. This song seems (seems because BvS is so friggin cryptic) like an acceptance of life. You fuck up, you get over it, youy know what sucks about life and you stick with it anyway. Beautiful song. |

| Bear vs. Shark – Baraga Embankment Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Maybe I am just tired, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the meaning of this song. Still my favorite so far on Terrorhawk. Classic BvS |

| Alexisonfire – Adelleda Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Those last three words destroyed every inch of me yet you keep speaking. Write your name on my chest in kerosene. Spark a match and you will never be cold again. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. |

| The Lyndsay Diaries – Where the Sidewalk Ends Lyrics | 20 years ago |

oh doctor doctor, what are you doing looking up lyrics for a band the "sucks?" you suck. go home asshole. This song is really really good. Silverstein is a fucking hippie. |
|
| Glassjaw – Piano Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Excellent song, very odd. Perfect for odd moods. | |
| Hopesfall – Open Hands To The Wind Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about the pain, misery, and torment that comes from any sort of wisdom. It is true that ignorance is bliss, but then ignorance is inhuman. Wise people are burdened with truth, and let's be honest, the truth sucks. The wind is a truth without sadness, it cannot be grasped during life as we understand it, I hope I get it when I die |

| This Day Forward – Disintegrating Eden Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Such a beautiful song, and the lyrics are stunning. My favorite This Day Forward song. Burn all the roses, because the good memories will still remind you of bad ones. Burn them all. By the way, it's "They stand alone, hopeless, they stand alone, listlessly innocent." |
|
| This Day Forward – Kissing Perfection's Cheek Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song sounds reminds me of falling out with someone when you finally realize that all the things you found beautiful in them turned out to be apparitions, displays intended to allure. It really sucks because it works. A charming, pretty girl with energy and warmth who turned out to be a self-pitying, unhappy person. The real pain lies in the discovery that the person you love isn’t real, just a projection of perfection, kissing perfection’s cheek. Hell of a song. | |
| Reggie and the Full Effect – Girl, Why'd You Run Away? Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I saw reggie on my birthday, which was excellent, this song came first in the line up, I was quite pleased. But sadly I almost got into a fistfight with a scenester during New Found Glory, who sucked, so I left...but reggie was friggin great | |
| Reggie and the Full Effect – Get Well Soon Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Killer song, my favorite so far from Songs Not to Get Married To. The new video is also quite funny, but it made me sad to see the Loch Ness Monster all bummed out and stuff. | |
| Reggie and the Full Effect – Your Boyfriend Hates Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I saw them at the Palladium and they kicked ass. They put New Found Glory to shame...and they were in easter rabbit costumes. For shame NFG. This song got me into Reggie and the Full Effect, and since I have seen them live, I am extra impressed. | |
| Fairweather – The Culling Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| That is an awesome interpretation largemarge. The fact that this song continues for as long as it does is what makes it great. It is so peaceful. One of fairweather's best, and by far the best off of Lusitania. | |
| Fairweather – South Street, 1 AM Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I agree wholeheartedly with itsjustsurvival. The song is awesome, but the guy who introduced me to the band used to drive to me high school, and would say, "Change it, I don't feel like falling asleep behind the wheel" because he found the song boring for the first four minutes. True story. But I adore this song all the same, the entire CD is amazing. |

| Poison the Well – Torn Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Pain and despair, perfectly mirrored in the music and vocals I'm a huge fan of Opposite of December, but only a few of them come close to Torn |
|
| Poison the Well – Torn Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Easily my top pick for PTW. This coming from a pretty big fan of Opposite of December too. Somehow Torn just carries more weight than OOD Lyrics are simple: Pain and despair, perfectly mirrored in the music and vocals |
|
| Bear vs. Shark – The Employee Is Not Afraid Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
best song on the cd, quite good. can't make hide nor hair of the lyrics though. Maybe something about being unsure, but in the end it works out harmoniously, like the end of the song...just delightful harmony. I gotta love the CD title, reputedly longer than most think "Right Now, You're In The Best Of Hands, And If Something Isn't Quite Right, Your Doctor Will Know In A Hurry" |
|
| Alexisonfire – Adelleda Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
For the song, it seems to be about pain, and the music conveys it well. Read indieapple's dallas green lyrics (thanks for posting them by the way) and also read George's lyrics, they are all about betrayal and pain. What a beautiful song. I've listened to the self-titled cd maybe twenty times over the past year, and I gotta say, despite how excellent they all are, this song surpasses the rest. Dallas at his finest in my humble opinion. Check out alexisonfire .com, I heard that the band is named after her, which makes me feel kinda funny. |

| Hopesfall – The Broken Heart of a Traitor Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
for one thing, unforgiveness is not a word. second, it does not fit the lyrics, nor does the word sound like "unforgiveness." the word is "transgression," listen to the song, you'll hear it. transgression, look it up, it fits the song better than the ficticious "unforgiveness" But as for the song, the meaning seems pretty clear: He has done something he regrets, and as some might understand, regret can be damn painful...especially if you cant forgive youself for it. "though the wings of a dove have wiped the tears from my eyes, this tounge has fanned the flames of transgression." although I have been forgiven, I have sinned, and burned my bridges. "Is grace enough?" Good question Does forgiveness really mend the damage done? Either that or the song is about trying to find "the eternal" Nevertheless this is one of my all time favorite songs. Top ten without a doubt. |
