Transfolk come in many different shapes. Some have operations, some don't. Some live as the other gender, some don't. Some have partial operations and choose to live somewhere between genders. What matters is what the person identifies as. Antony has referred to himself as 'trans', 'genderqueer', and a 'transvestite', so I think it's safe to include him in the transgendered spectrum. |

I think pissing in a river is symbolic of doing something that is ineffective. The amount of piss she can produce is nothing against the torrent of the river, just as her impassioned pleas are doing nothing to prevent her lovers from leaving. |

I'm pretty sure she's singing to herself. Or to her old self-destructive self. This song seems like a eulogy for early cat power. "I Don't Blame You" and the next song on the record, "Free" sound like an artist giving herself permission to be reborn. And the changes in her sound and confidence in her live performance and interviews around this time gives this interpretation weight. |

I hear "I fear you, but I'm not afraid of you." as well. I remember in sunday school as a kid being taught the difference between "fearing" god and "being afraid of" god, and I'm pretty sure this is what he is referencing..."fear" is more profound... |
