genera=genre, sight=site, dibbs=dibs. and everything he said WAS constructive criticism. none of that really applies to trexor. he's not bashing the genre or those who actually enjoy making it or listening to it, he's bashing the image, those who are addicted to it, and those who care more about whining about their lives than giving birth to something. he's saying you can like this stuff all you want, but don't drown out the art. don't drown out the music made by people who want to make music that hasn't been made before. you don't start a band by saying, "hey, guys let's start a hardcore band", you stat a band by getting a group of musicians together who have similar music tastes and you work to see what you can do. "if people all over thought like that, rock-n-roll would never have been created"? that seems a little contradictory. we're sick of the trendy kids who are "standing outside the highschool with a pierced nose and cigarette in their hands" who call US preppy because WE'RE not conforming to their cliche ideas. this is very positive, instigating change. "making them feel like shit"? what reason do they have to feel like shit unless they're guilty as charged? and to name good, original punk, Thrice. to name good, original emo, Dashboard, to name good, original hardcore, uhhh... |

yes! this song roxors. it's just talking about how dumb war is. war is just another piece of cultural bullshit. two leaders disagree, so millions of soldiers go off to kill each other until one side can kill no more. i've seen documentaries about world war ii and such, and you see these hundreds of soldiers clashing against each other, many of them dying before they even get a shot off, and i can't help but wonder what or who they think they're fighting for. why don't our leaders go and duke it out in a boxing match? or why don't they settle it with a game of cards? why killing? because that's the way people have been train to think through history. am i the only one who thinks this way? ...pointless cultural bullshit... |

no one is argueing that it's not about passive-aggressive behavior. but i like what ripmypants said about him talkng to himself, it makes more sense than anything else, but in relation to constantine i think it reflects when the chick said she didn't believe in satan and john/neo/keanu responded "he believes in you" |

for all of you who insist it's about jesus: that would make maynard a moron. jesus wanted to die, was not surprised to hear his own eulogy. it would be a little contradictory. and i don't believe maynard is a moron. |

yeah, it sounds pretty ignorant if you only read one sentence and ignore everything else he said. ...who is the ignorant one???
“i find it ironic that you seem to love your precious democracy so much, yet when it yields you a leader whose choice leads to deaths of many, you incessantly bitch about it as if you think you can change the past. this is what you're form of government led to, accept it. this is what your freedom and people ruling themselves has led to.” -trexor |

| A Perfect Circle – People Are People Lyrics

i'd have to say i completely disagree with marceldwayne, this song isn't saying violence is necessary, because it's not. i mean, if everyone was like me, there would be no violence(not that i'm saying everyone should be like me). although i do think there will always be violence, i also know that anyone as an individual is capable of resolving their problems without violence, even though they may still become the victims of it. to me, this song is making fun of people who try to conform to cultures, because that is a very strong cause of the ignorance that leads to violence. just my opinion, don't rape me, please. |

this song reminds me of being with a retarded trendy emo girlfriend who won't tell you anything about the way she feels and when the relationship is bad it just goes to hell because no one says anything and you end up hating/not even knowing each other. |

i like to go to forums about bands that i don't like just to see what other people have to say about them and why they like them, and i would have to agree with guiffporn, i'm not a fan of this band. from what i've seen, they look like image whores very much like Evanescence, and don't get me wrong, both Evanescence and HIM have skills and talent, but i think they're the types of people who squander it. Correct me if i'm wrong, i'd love to hear anyone else's opinion, but from what i've seen, all or most of HIM's lyrics are about death mixed with love, and well, frankly that's the kind of music(only because of the lyrics) that 16 year old trendy suicidal emo girls listen to and then cut themselves. it's not hard to tell when music is not about the music, and it's not hard to tell when musicians are trying to conform to a genre. and what is this song about anyways, because i can't really tell? and on the other hand... "One of my friends is a goth" |
