Throw another agreement in for this album being a huge leap. I liked Antidotes but I am absolutely in love with this whole album and this is the best song on it. In terms of the lyrics, it looks pretty accurate...there are two parts that I'm hearing something different:
1. I'm hearing "shoals" instead of "shores" in the first and last verse.
2. The layered part is somewhat unclear but it sounds more like "Commonly accepted, affected, protected" rather than "Come help me accept it, affect it, protect it" to me. |

It's a song with a pretty obvious meaning I think but like everyone else has posted, listening to this song just makes me giddy...I just decided to check this band's myspace out since they're opening for Cut Copy when they come to Toronto in March and this song just blew me away. It's perfect pop, reminds me a bit of Mates of State but the beat gives me a bit of 90s nostalgia. Just awesome. |

I kind of think the whole idea of the song is that it is being written from the viewpoint of the real monster - an abusive (perhaps not physically but emotionally) and obsessive boyfriend. The girl has gotten away and in the second half of the song, the boyfriend is zoning in on a new victim, a replacement for the girlfriend who left... |

I think The lost and found got the interpretation pretty damn close, that'd be about what I'd think too...
I'm kinda shocked I missed this song before now...but I hadn't downloaded all the basement demos so that's kinda why. I only just heard it a few days ago in pitchforkmedia's forkcast where they previewed it and it was just amazing hearing another Elliott Smith masterpiece for the first time...I cannot wait for New Moon... |

i think this is my favorite song on the album...it's so damn good i can't believe i never heard anything from it earlier...i rarely buy CDs but i'm for sure buying this one cause they're so damn good. and must support canadian indie bands :)
and i can't believe how every song on the album pretty much is amazing. that is rarely true, at least in the albums i've bought/heard... |

There seems to be this underlying motif in the new Oasis album related to "soul"...it just seems a bit unusual that three of my four favorite songs on this album have the word "soul" in them (Let There Be Love - Who stole the soul from the sun, Importance of Being Idle - I sold my soul for the second time and Part of the Queue - I'm having trouble just finding some soul in this town). Weird. I really like the lyrics to this song too...the great thing about their new songs is that I can just so visualize this and all their other songs. |

The thing though is that while this is the best song on the album, it's one of those incredibly insanely great Oasis songs and the rest of the album is truly excellent as well. Though I'm not finding myself a big fan of Love Like a Bomb and Guess God Thinks I'm Abel (the soundclips were promising but the full versions were a bit disappointing to me...maybe I'll warm up to them with repeat listens?), I love everything else on the album...my other favorite song on this album is The Importance of Being Idle which I would post up but i can't figure out one or two lines in the song, but I fucking love the lyrics to that song and the melody is so damn catchy. Also big into Mucky Fingers and Part of this Queue though not as much as teh above two mentioned. |

Posted this up cause the lyrics posted by the other guy were the lyrics to It's a Crime, the demo version of Let There Be Love. As you can see, the lyrics to the real version are fantastic compared to the crappy lyrics on their demo. I couldn't believe how much better Let There Be Love was than the demo version...probably my favorite Oasis song since Gas Panic! |

Ummmm...these lyrics are now entirely and COMPLETELY wrong...with the exception of "Let there be love" :p...these are the lyrics to It's A Crime - the demo version of Let There Be Love...Let There Be Love has absolutely stunning lyrics one of the reasons why I love the song so much more now than in the demo form (It's a Crime)...ie first verse from the real one:
"Who keeps a hole in the sky
So the heavens would cry over me
Who stole the soul from the sun
In a world come undone at the seams"
So yeah, I'm gonna try to submit the real lyrics...I suggest someone change the name of this to It's a Crime since there's no page for the demo lyrics yet anyway... |

This song rocks...plain and simple. Didn't like it that much first listen but it grew on me...which was a good sign as most Oasis songs that I love usually take a few listens for me to really love (Supersonic, Acquiese, Rock 'n' Roll Star) so it's a promising return to form :) |
