| Dropkick Murphys – The Walking Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| More than Anything it is saying that Anything we have gone through, someonelse before us has been through it as well, possibly worse. The chorus line says it all. | |

| Thanks for putting that out Talots. This is another wonderful DKM song dedicated to the soldiers who protect our freedom. | |
| Dropkick Murphys – The Fighting 69th Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This is a beautiful song. I can't say I know much of the history, but I do know that it is nice to hear a song for the soldiers who risk it all for their country. They deserve to be treated with the honor and respect they have earned. "And when the war is said and done, May heaven spare our lives For its only then we can return, To our loved ones and our wives We'll take them in our arms, me boys, For a long night and a day And we'll hope that war will come no more, To sweet America" This stanza says it all. |

| Dropkick Murphys – Buried Alive Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| During this recent mining accident in WV, This song kept on playing in my mind and everytime I turned on the news I sang "They latched themselves together so in death they might be found prayed there for miracle some 24 stories down." | |
| Flogging Molly – The Rare Ould Times Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| A song about love found and lost. Nothing racist, he lost his love to another guy, and she took away his soul. Simple | |

I know it has been about a year since I last commented but, It seems that people are still doing the same name calling and BS arguing about which religion is valid. Now I am a Protestant who came from two former Catholic Parents. There is no need to bring out the same arguments that lead to so much bloodshed. I have fellow sailors that are fighting on ships and shore in the mideast. We have enough bloodshed. This is a beautiful song, regardless of religious beliefs. Severance, Thanks for reminding us about the meaning of this site. |

| Gaelic Storm – Drink The Night Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Wonderful song, with one stanza that is all to common and True for Sailors, hell anyone in the military: I must be off by morning's light, I can hear our boatswain's whistle blowing, so its one more kiss, and one more fight, and one more song while the beer is flowing! |

| Dropkick Murphys – Buried Alive Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Beautiful Sad song of the harsh life of coal miners. Working Class always has to pay, just listen to "The Workers Song" | |
| Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies Lyrics | 20 years ago |

One of my favorite quotes comes from this song! "A Smile never grins without tears to begin For Each kiss is a cry we all lost." This statement has helped me realize and explain that things may be hard right now but they lead on to better times. |

| Flogging Molly – Grace Of God Go I Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This does seem to be about the Great Famine, but the melencholy Acapella sound is beautifully dark, like a funeral song. | |

Well, enough people have posted enough about this song, so what will one more comment hurt? :) Brian May said that no one really knows what this song is about and that is one of the qualities that makes it so great. People can take the lyrics and adapt them to themselves. Personally, my favorite line is: Mama, I don't wanna die, I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all!!! -MAS |

| U2 – Pride (In the Name of Love) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is a beautiful song with many historical references and a lot of imagery. As for the breakdown of the lyrics, it is about many people who struggled throughout history for Love and Peace. One man come in the name of love (CHrist) One man come and go (prisoner Barrabbas) One man come, he to justify (Pontus Pilate) One man to overthrow (Hebrew leaders at the time) One man caught on a barbed wire fence (escaping prisoners) One man he resist ( fighting against authority) One man washed on an empty beach (blacks hosed down by cops in the 60s) One man betrayed with a kiss (Christ betrayed by Judas) Early morning, April 4 Shot rings out in the Memphis sky (both lines MLK but he wasn't shot in the morning) Free at last, they took your life They could not take your pride (refering to anyone who stayed obedient to death and did not give in to their oppressors) |

| Martina McBride – My Baby Loves Me Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| THis is a wonderful song! It shows how we feel to thos ewe most love. How I feel to my best friends, regardless of how they may want to change. | |
| Martina McBride – Concrete Angel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Very Sad and Beautiful song with the motif of abuse that is found in many of Martina McBride's songs. I first heard this on my way to my senior prom. I saw the video a week later and cried. Very beautiful, very sad | |
| U2 – Sunday Bloody Sunday Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This is another beautiful song about the heartache that the Emerald Isle has faced due to the Religious bickering. Even though the fights are political and economic, as well as religious, it all leads to the same thing. Death of the innocent, blood flowing through the streets like wine. To take the lyrics of a newer Irish Band, "We find ourselves in the same old mess, singing Drunken Lullabies" To JohnDunn87 and IrishJ I plead, stop the bickering, PLEASE. It has led to nothing but sadness and grief. "Is there life before Death? After Peace?" -from Touched by an Angel |

Absolutely great song. I think the ending is a bit funny in a sense of Irish Satire that made Jonathan Swift famous. Now bless me father for I have sinned But it`s the same old story again and again and again Ah well, such is the bread of an everyday life From mornin' to noon to this shadowless-night As for the bickering of Philidelphia Eagles vs. tomscahillIV, et al.,: That is the same petty squabble that has led to so much bloodshed in our beloved Erin and all over the world. Please cease. "Can't we put away the Catholic words and the Protestant words, and listen only to the Word of God"-from touched by an angel. PS: Matthew 7:1 NIV "Do not judge or you too will be judged" |

A great Irish Ballad. Just makes me think of soldiers and how we must fight for our country, even though we see the folly of so much Death in the quest for Peace. "With madman's rage, well they dug our graves But the dead rise again you fools" This line reminds me of how the death of each person on either side of the Irish struggle, leads to more killing. |

| Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Great Song! It reminds me a bit of the tired feeling of the people of Ireland after all the conflict between the Taegs and the Prods. No matter what happens, they still spill the same blood for the same reasons. "We find ourselves in the same old mess singing Drunken Lullabies." |
