The Walking Dead Lyrics
The greats have come alive, the water's on fire
Have I been to this place before
Yeah we danced through the night as the flames burned bright
And the patrons passed out on the floor
What's so new about what you're saying?
It's another generation with the same sad song
The walking dead couldn't tell us any better
It's a tale you've gotta live to know
Yeah the story you're telling's from the book I wrote
I've forgotten more than you'll ever know
'Cause at the end of the day when the hope fades away
It was an outlook you could never afford
You're on one last stand with the boys in the band
Before the demon strikes the final chord
What's so new about what you're saying?
It's another generation with the same sad song
You've got tons of fans in hell, boy that much I know
Turn me up and turn me on before I go
Just another sad song
What's so new about what you're saying?
It's another generation with the same sad song
Have I been to this place before
Yeah we danced through the night as the flames burned bright
And the patrons passed out on the floor
It's another generation with the same sad song
It's a tale you've gotta live to know
Yeah the story you're telling's from the book I wrote
I've forgotten more than you'll ever know
'Cause at the end of the day when the hope fades away
It was an outlook you could never afford
You're on one last stand with the boys in the band
Before the demon strikes the final chord
It's another generation with the same sad song
Turn me up and turn me on before I go
It's another generation with the same sad song

This song has nothing to do with Emo and does not target any particular movement, but is focused largely at third-round Punk Rock.
Also, it's "The Story You're Selling" not "telling"
I think this song's about passing trends in music and how "the next big thing" will just fade away and be replaced by something else soon.
I think this is a shot at emo. It's saying that your life isn't so bad, people before you have gone through more hardships.
More than Anything it is saying that Anything we have gone through, someonelse before us has been through it as well, possibly worse. The chorus line says it all.
I think this is more like every generation thinks there experiancing new emotions and such and think older generations don't get it but in truth theve been through the same
I agree with Diabolus and hunterfalcon on this one. Emo kids always seem to overdramatize there lives.
