| The Lawrence Arms – Are You There, Margaret? It's Me, God. Lyrics | 20 years ago |

R2k, I definitely agree with you that this album is so amazing. after I listened to it about 3 times, every single song grew on me. it was the same thing with greatest story, it took a couple days for it all to really sink in. but now i think this album is just as unique and great as their others. this song is sweet. at first, unlike other people, it was my least favorite because it just didn't sound like them. but again, after a couple listens, i "got it." *ALSO, i really think the title is a pun. especially since some of the song is talking about a girls body, and is probably about sex. i confess i've never read judy blume, but one of their other songs was once titled as a joke, "Where are you going wher ehave you been?" and was a joyce carol oates story. so take the judy blume reference with a grain of salt. |

this is my favorite song on oh! calcutta! it's funny, a lot of people who have listened to this album do not really give credit to this song. but the drumming, guitars, and bass are all amazing. i think the lyrics and how the vocals are strewn together really make for one of the most unique songs on the album. at the same time, it's trademark larry arms. reminds me a little bit of the revisionist in the style its composed. anyway, a lot of the songs on this record have to do with abandoning regrets. the part that i really love is when chris sings, A REVOLUTION ON MY MIND, that whole 2nd verse is great. Our history creeps fast through the gutters. A revolution on my mind Guess what? I give a shit But I couldn't care less about the lives they choose to live And your eyes speak to me deeper and deeper, a truth that i have never known. The twilight feels right, the shadows fade into oblivion. |

| The Lawrence Arms – Someday We're All Gonna Weigh 400 Lbs. Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Brendan: It's about how everybody just sits around and orders food on their computer, talk to their friends on the computer, and all that they're gonna do is sit around their computers and get fat. This song really sounds like a Broadways song, more than any other one. | |

| Brendan: It's about leaving Las Vegas and my own trip to Las Vegas and my own general feeling about drinking. (The lyrics start "One hundred bottles of beer on the…") I also steal lyrics from everything in the world. | |
