It might be pertaining to religion, and commenting on the arrogance of those practicing organized religion to think they know how God wants our world to be. And that for these people to join functioning society, they can't alienate those who dont share their beliefs. |

Yeah, Eatcarpet has got it right. I don't know if dinosaur jr wrote it about depression....some of the other lyrics don't really suggest it...but those two lines are really identifiable with that feeling |
