I've heard 2 things about this song. One site said that it was supposed to be about Christ waiting for his church to be who they're supposed to, and another said that it was about Matt's struggle, waiting for the right girl. At first the one about the church didn't make sense, but now i'm starting to think that it was meant to have multiple meanings. |

Based on the video, i'm pretty sure there is no denying the christian interpretation was what was meant. There is alot of christian symbols in it, such as when the dude is being given the purple heart and there is all those crosses behind him, which i suppose might symbolize him being sworn into christ's army or something, and him rising from his casket, presumably to heaven. I think, personally songs like this are hard to look at from a secular perspective, just like meant to live, and i'm surprised these guys don't claim to be a christian band. |

This song deffinitely has alot of power. Our band played it for a show at our school, and alot of people asked us about it, and were surprised by our beliefs along the lines of not lusting towards women and abstinence. Davy is up there with musical geniuses like brian wilson!!! in reference to those of u who believe they cut out the word whore because they are with tooth and nail, i would have to disagree. Another t&n band, twothirtyeight used the word on their 2002 release, "You Should Be Living", in the line, "Credit is a whore, but i'm not sleeping w/ her anymore". I believe they simply took the word out because it is offensive to some, cuz it obiviously didn't seem to be a big deal back in '02 for twothirtyeight |
