Well, i think the song is about being depressed or anxious, and trying to do things (taking up sailing etc) to try and forget about it, but it never really works. And you've still got angst in your pants. But that's probably not it. I adore this song. |

Well, the suicide pact things makes a lot more sense, but i read somewhere that this song was written about Robert being annoyed that everyone was saying that the Cure were really dark and gothy, so he wrote this as a kind of ironic joke. Which explains the 'lets go and throw all the songs we know... into the sea'. But i think that's a bit silly really. This song is lovely and makes me wanna dance dance dance! |

It's a fun song about a drunk guy and his friend and the drunk guys wife is cheating on him, or so he thinks. I reckon its just about being drunk and silly. |

I know the 'the sparks' thing really annoys me. And yeah its a joke, but don't you think that its about that, i mean the lyrics are clearly pointing to that story even if its just a joke. |

It appears to be about growing up, puberty and/or sex. The first verse appears to be about losing ones virginity, while the second is about technical aspects of puberty (voice breaking, growing stubble etc) and the first is about learning how to be grown up, the chorus seems to say that you will never fully be grown up, as you never stop learning. |

this appears to be the story of a couple who had a suicide pact, but after he went through with it she (Juliet, perhaps even a reference to shakespeare) did not. So now he is up in heaven without her but it is not heaven for him as he is not with her. |

it seems to be about how horrid it is waiting for someone to arrive for a date, fearing that as they are late they will have stood you up and also how they can control your relationship by making it on their time and things. Yeah! |

I heard that this song was about how many artists nowadays just steal and use samples from previously recorded songs. So in that way the originality of music is disappearing. Also this band is just called 'sparks' not 'the sparks'. |
