Goldfrapp are awesome. They are very underrated in my opinion and are very different to the current music scene. They set themselves apart from the crowd, I don't think intentionally, I feel it's about the music for them. I applaud Alison, she brings a sexy feel to every song. |

I have heard this song covered twice (Once by a soul person who I cant remember the name of, and once very recently (early 2006) by Beverly Knight). Now, Beverly Knight is a great talent but even she cannot give it the rocky edge Janis gives this song. Janis was pure rock. Her gravely voice was perfect for this song. I doubt I will EVER hear someone sing this better than her. (Joss Stone did a good attempt at the Grammy's but even she will admit Janis owns this song) |

I think this song is haunting and beautiful. I can completely understand what she is going through, as when I first heard Eva Cassidy I said to my girlfriend at the time 'Oh we HAVE to see her she's awesome', to which i got the responce 'well...actually..she's dead'. Eva Cassidy was an awesome singer and was only really known after her premature death due to Melanoma (skin cancer). Listen to this song for Katie's haunting vocals and lyrics. Listen to Eva for beauty in a voice. Live At Blue's Alley is a great album, to have that much vocal ability..LIVE is brilliant! A talent which is gravely missed. |

I like this cover, and as a rule I don't usually like covers. It is the better cover of this song I have heard (the other one being by Jeff Buckley). It takes the song into different waters. The Elkie Brooks version is a belter song and is packed full of hurt, lusting, powerful vocals. Katie's version is more mellow and has softer, but still beautiful vocals. Both songs are worth listening to! |

I agree, this song was sort of overplayed by most radio stations. However it was an over-played song I liked and I think shows that at least SOME of the time we can play true artists with TALENT. Katie is great and we should encourage more like this. |

Well it wasn't the first song off 'Piece By Piece', 'Nine Million Bicycles' was and 'I Cried For You' was next. It is a very good song however. It is thought provoking and takes a slanted look on racial issues. Great songwriting and very mature lyrics and vocals. |
