The Knife – Colouring Of Pigeons Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is, literally, the of the most concise and well backed analysis I have read on this here website, Jeremandias. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts and interpretations on other songs from this album. |
Telepathe – Devil's Trident Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is absolutely the most lyrically profound song i've heard in a long time. It's almost a Gertrude Stein-esque poem complimented by these amazing shifts in tonality and rhythm. The pulsing drone and deep bass line also make the song sound evermore dark and entrancing. I honestly think that this might be my favorite track of 2009. @zJacob: i've wondered the same thing. I thought "Been Lying" as well as "stay in line" |
The Juan Maclean – The Simple Life Lyrics | 14 years ago |
the intro to this song is absolutely brilliant. |
Patrick Wolf – The Gypsy King Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The Gypsy King and Demolition are in competition for my favorite Patrick song. such an amazing track. |
Patrick Wolf – The Bachelor Lyrics | 15 years ago |
easily the best song on the album, especially live. So moving. No wonder it's the title track. |
Jay Jay Johanson – She's Mine But I'm Not Hers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
the love you can and will never have. |
Jenny Lewis – Pretty Bird Lyrics | 15 years ago |
jenny's voice is so effing delicate in this song. drop a grain of salt on it and it would just fall apart. |
30 Seconds to Mars – Echelon Lyrics | 15 years ago |
So i have been listening to 30 seconds to mars long before their MTV/radio/television fame. That is what, 5 or 6 years? This song still hits home for some reason, and remains my favorite 30STM song. The chorus, although simple, is extremely effective in movement. This album far exceeds ABL in quality and depth, and it's so disheartening to see that they are thriving only on their new work that is so easily surpassed by their prior. Perhaps I'm bitter that one of my little gems was exposed to the disgusting mass market. |
Sam Sparro – Cling Wrap Lyrics | 16 years ago |
just a few corrections: *honey you're just to clingy *you must've thought i was your snack *you must've thought you were my wife and *i'm gonna cut you off now let me grab my knife *i need you like i need fifteen spare tires i adore this song, it's fun and super kitsch. |
Santigold – Shove It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i LOVE this song. up there really high on this amazing album. super summery. loves it. |
Crystal Castles – Crimewave Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the lyrics ARE as what were previously posted according to Jake from Health. But at the same time, i think that this song was mixed to reveal different interpretations[for lack of better words] of the lyrics. If we were to follow that theory, i always thought of the lyrics being: Eyes lit I want short breaths I adorn dark eyelids, Da da da da da die Life’s breaths Like the sun I begin to repent. [last verse]Eyes lit on short breaths from dark lips, for life’s breathes, like the sun I begin to repent I think that the ambiguity of lyrics is amazing. |
Robyn – Robotboy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is so fucking cute. im definitely going to sing it to my next boyfriend. |
Rilo Kiley – Dreamworld Lyrics | 16 years ago |
honestly, i dont really like this song a whole lot. blake's vocals seem a bit shot and too hush. I do like the music though, really beachy and relaxing, i'm just not a huge fan of the vocals. |
Rilo Kiley – Silver Lining Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i looove looove loove this song. the vocals are so smooth and rich. |
Le Tigre – Fake French Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think its about people who write songs that are sophisticated just for the sake of being, or trying to be, sophisticated. Like someone who pretends to speak french just so that they could be seen as regal, or sophisticated. every line of the song could contribute to this. I've got - the new sincerity.: Being seen as a music revolutionary. I've got - a secret vocabulary.: Complicated and probably verbose lyrics I've got - MIDI in, out, thru.: Complex Music I've got - dialectical sprecstimme.: Revolutionary singing style, like sprechgesang I've got - herm choreography.: Portrayal of skill. I've got - a conceptual stunt double.: perhaps copycats? I've got - a deviant scene, I mean. I've got - multiple alliances..... :Collaboration. ect. |
Le Tigre – F.Y.R. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i did my 11th grade final on the third wave of american feminism through portrayal in media. I used this song and it fit perfectly. anyway, RU486 was the first widely available abortion drug. the first bush administration did not allow for its approval in the US while other large countries were using it. It finally got approval in 1996 by the clinton administration, and was awarded an fda seal in 2000. Title IX granted educational equity to everyone regardless of sex and/or gender. It was big with sports and financial aid. |

Ladytron – Flicking Your Switch Lyrics | 17 years ago |
||"Maybe it's not S&M but there is a sexual undertone ||to this song I think. "flicking the switch" is slang for, ||uh, a girl doing what girls do best..."|| staying in the kitchen? joooking. clearly its about shopping with a stolen card, it reveals it in the first line. |
