One of my favourite songs, a bit of country, but not exactyly. Great lyrics, great flow with this jumping guitar. One of those songs, which I don't want to get into the real meaning or reading between the lines, pure entertainment. Lay back, an sing it along with him, nodding my head with the rythm. |

I wouldn't consider this one as an actual song, it's more like a form of poetry. Jack says about being a big star and consequences like forgetting who you are and where you came from. It's so ironic, to me, Jack laughts bout those who's changend under the influence of the fame, and lost their credibility. |

I admire Jack for lots of things, but particulary in Jolene, he shows his ability od adding into a song such a great level of emotions. I don't care that he sings to a girl about not taking his man away, but he's still... incredibly credible! I hadn't heard Parton's version before that one, but I did that after hearing Jack's version. And the truth is, he made a masterpiece out of nothing. He's a genius to me. One of my favourite songs of White Stripes, simply the best band ever. I'm gonna say it once again- He's a genius!!! |
