as you can see by my name, this is like one of my favorite songs. i think thom had words in his soul that had to be expressed, solidified, and made into a poem, and what came out, all gooey and slimey with the afterbirth of the soul were these lyrics. thats how most of my poems come out. but i usually dry mine off first. |

this song seems to sort of be about terrorism or the holy wars in the middle east. im REALLLLLLLy tired so im not going to go too into it right now, but think about it.
the middle east is WEST of the river - Nile. --- river denial.
techs -- bomb technicians
neo infidels -- holy warriors see their opponents as infidels
and so on.
QED
thus it is proved. |

well this song is set in an abandoned railyard, the first stop on cerpin's comatorium psych-out trip. and the metaphor of the railyard, and the Junction, is that he has to make the decision whether to travel further down the rabbit hole (that is, further into the comatorium) and see what awaits or...ya know, die or something. he's already in the coma by this time.
does ANYONE else feel when the heaviness first kicks in in this song, it reminds you of iron railyard bars??????? omar is just so fucking amazing. i dont fucking understand. but even BEFORE i found out that htis song is set in an abandoned railyard, i felt it reminded me of like railroad iron and stuff. fucking amazing stuff. |

no, vaya, the album came first. the book is based on the album. which is based on julio. ANYWAY, i think this song, espcially since ERIATARKA is "homeground" in...greek, i think, that cerpin is starting to give in and accept his comatorium, he's beginning to feel more at home. |

well, we talked about this song in romanticism class, and we came up with some pretty interesting stuff. "I'm sorry you saw that" and that whole thing is basically saying (this song is bjork speaking as the sacred feminine that the romantic era is striving to revive) im sorry you saw the ugliness of existence while i was gone but "you can't say no to me" im back now and everything is ok. bjork is such a goddess |
