this song comes off as that hint of a "what if?" that one person is wondering about from a past spark of brilliance that was never pursued to it's end while the other sees it as a tick on the timescale of their life of something that just didn't work because she was willing to make the sacrifice and give it a try and he wasn't ready or was to afraid and said "no"...it makes me think of "nothing better" by the postal service. |

in reference to the "driving snow that drives me home to you" section...well, i feel like this whole song is an ode to the death of innocence and the acting in a romanticized world where everything we see is mystical and magical, yet at the same time, simplified and obvious... and everything we see is a sign hinting at our part in some beautifully constructed scheme... and i think about how when snow is falling, everything is very quiet, because all of the creatures are nestled up somewhere save, knowing they should be home, where they belong (where it's safe from the cold)... but the abilities held by man allows us to drive, travel and venture beyond where we should be, perhaps.....and he needs to be/should be back home or with this other person? it's something that's so seemingly obvious, but with age and all of the distractions that follow...he is deaf to the call to go home. to her, maybe. it's something as simple as a child acknowledging the fact that he needs his mother, but maybe he doesn't know/can't admit he needs her or something like that....i don't really know. it sure is a purdy song though. |

i feel this line, after being broken up with from a 1 mo. relationship for his ex. it feels like all that time meant nothing, but if they have something strong, all you can do is try to understand... but it still sucks. |

this is a great, short & simple song about one of the hardest parts (a realization) of moving on shortly after the end of a relationship... not really knowing your place any more...or anybody's place. and just having to accept that things are the way they are, even if it sucks. or atleast that's what i feel/get out of this song. another freaking great tune. |

"blame it on the satellite".....i think that no matter what happens, some how his life keeps revolving around "her", and he is a satellite in a way, unable to escape her "attraction", despite his wishes to leave...the gravity/force is much too strong for him to ever be able to pull away....

the development of this song and the transitions he makes between thoughts...incredible. it's encouraging how despite his falling apart, this new found reason to live leads to a cleansing of himself into pure honesty much like the flower which so captivated him....errr, something like that. |
