Fall Out Boy – Of All the Gin Joints in All the World Lyrics 20 years ago
Just to clear it up, the line in Ocean's 12 was a homage to Casablanca. The LINE is from Casablanca, seeing as how it's been out just, I dunno, a little bit longer?

Anyways, I've noticed a small pattern in Fall Out Boy's new album. Alot of it has to do with the down-sides of becoming "big." Stardom, so to speak, is something they don't exactly crave.

Here's my interpretation of the song:

"You only hold me up like this, cause you don't know who I really am."
-It's obvious, this girl is someone who is just infatuated that he's in a band.

"Sometimes I just want to know what it's like to be you."
-He's saying how he wishes he could understand.

"We're making out inside crashed cars."
-They're engaging in physical attraction when the relationship itself is a wreck. Fall Out Boy has always sung about how they hated girls who just wanted to "hook up," as evident in their song, "Pretty in Punk."

"We're sleeping through all our memories."
-They're ignoring everything that's happened in their lives, the good and the bad. It's all lust, now.

"I used to waste my time dreaming of being alive, now I only waste it dreaming of you."
-The words used here are obviously NOT positive. Wasting your time dreaming of someone? He sounds like he's not too thrilled with the relationship as it is.

"Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness, cause all of our moves make up for the silence. And oh, the way your make-up stains my pillow case, like I'll never be the same."
-The obvious cure to their relationship is ignoring anything and just "going at it." They're not happy, but the 'moves' make up for it all. Again, the wording on this next line, "stains," is obvious it's something he's not happy with. It's like she's broken him.

"I've got headaches and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no."
-This is a tricky line to interpret. Possible it means something along the lines of how he could never influence her or make her feel as he did.

"I'm not trying."
-Because of who he is, he doesn't have to do anything to impress her. She's still bent up on the fact that he's a member of "Fall Out Boy."

The meaning to this is painfully obvious; quit misrepresenting Jah ("God") and learn to be more civil.

He's talking about how nonsensical our society is and how socially depraved our culture is. He's saying that these little puppets get on stage to impress the populace by trying to make it seem the trendy thing.

"Pay an audience to care; impress me personality."
