| Modest Mouse – Grey Ice Water Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Grey water is a type of wastewater, neither fresh, nor toxically polluted. I believe grey water refers to wastewater from domestic use like dishwashing, bathing and septic systems. It seems conceivable to me that Brock might be referring to this. | |
| Modest Mouse – Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice on Ice, Alright Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This isn't to knock my hero/anti-hero, Isaac Brock, but the styrofoam boots come from Gary Larson's brilliant cartoon "The Far Side". There's a cartoon with a picture of the fish mafia sending a fish to "sleep with the humans" by attaching styrofoam boots to his tail fin. I don't know if this is where he got the idea, but "The Far Side" did it first. Still, as an atheist and modest mousekteer, I love this song so much that it is physically painful. | |

| Bloodhound Gang – Pennsylvania Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's "we are istar" not ishcar. Ishtar is perhaps one of the worst movies ever made in case you were wondering. It's "we are the queef after a pornstar makes her gangbang record". Other than that, points for being awesome and posting this. you are the heart-dotted i in the word apologize scribbled drunk on a postcard sent from somewhere volcanos are i am the heart with no name airbrushed on the license plate of a suburu that was registered in pennsylvania do you even know what a wawa is? no do you even know what a wawa is? (repeat) i'm in a state of p fucking a |

| Depeche Mode – Little 15 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Rexbasior seems right on to me. WolvenBlack presents an interesting idea, but one that the lyrics don't support. The line about not being able to drive seems to suggest the "Little 15" is the one trying to seduce the third party. | |

Well, correct lyrics mean something to me. It goes... Fame can have strange effects Money can have strange effects I ask myself, is it a sin To be flexible when the boat comes in Open the window and out go ideals Drink can alter you Girls can have strange effect too I ask myself, is it a sin To be flexible when the boat comes in Open the window and out go ideals We all know boats don't last We all know cars are fast I ask myself, is it a sin To be flexible when the boat comes in Open the window and out go ideals |

| Depeche Mode – Blue Dress Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think as a rule of thumb with Depeche Mode that when in doubt about a song's meaning, it's probably about heroine. As much as I love them, they were quite fond of the stuff. | |
| Depeche Mode – Dressed In Black Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Depeche Mode has had a long history of BDSM tinged songs i.e. Master and Servant, In Your Room, and others. Though somewhat more subtle than those previously mentioned, this song is about BDSM. Note the title "Dressed in Black", which refers to a black leather costume, the references to domination and submission of "I'm falling down again/ Down to the floor again" and "I lay here helplessly". | |
