I don't think the Beatles are the only band to have a girls name in the lyrics of a song. But will agree that the arrangement is beatlesque. I think its a good song, and the meaning seems to be pretty straight forward, Guys relationship with chick Eleanor, has gone bad, he walked away. Realised it was the wrong thing and basically is pleading to be taken back. "My Love is in your hands" meaning she is in control of what happens if they get back together or not. Thats my take on it anyway. |

Don't you reckon the guitar riff at the start reminds you of the swingers "counting the beat" for all the aussies its the song that kmart have in its ads. "la da di da, la da di da" I was thinking 192020 was like a phone number or something. but that makes more sense katey go go. |

I'm not sure its about falling in love cause "We've trying to reach you" unless its not an monogamous one. I think it has to do with grief and how his girlfriend/partner is dealing with it. It may be a death that is particularly close to the girlfriend and has put her in a depressive spiral. Shutting herself off from everyone else and her partner and family. hence the "Last night I dreamt I held you with me Close enough to feel you breathe" and "Last night I dreamt I held you with me Closer still to see you leave" line for me have the feeling that his girlfriend isn't sleeping well hasn't been herself since the death and he's hoping the she comes back. hence the dreaming that she is close to him again. Her family and b/f are trying to reach her, get through to her and help her. telling her that they are always there. "Just keep holding my hand" you know its ok "We all fall down like this sometimes" and the last verse about walking in field gives me the imagery of funeral all the broken flowers and tears. its like she is dwelling stuck in an infinite loop and can't get past the grief. well thats what I think anyway. |

| I think you might be onto something shadow. I can see the whole obsessive behaviour. Maybe there was some infidelity on the spouses part. Husband wants her to know that he knows and kills her, then himself to bring them closer. But the smiling ocean and waving mountain i can't seem to fit in to this line of thinking.
