I think, its about a friend, who now is dead. His life ways always on the fast track and meant everything to the writer. The writer never had to worry about him, cause "he always found a way back home". But then he died (Maybe The car accident friend of "Glass in the trees). And suddenly a whole world broke down for the singer, he couldn´t realize it, because the friend was like a hero for him... The best die to fast.... So in the end he remembers when they were kids, he was sometimes helpless and his fiend helped him, so now he needs to sleep. Maybe... |

I think in the first verse he talks about the system that kills his dreams and just confinces him in his actions he wants to do. In the second verse he talks about you, as us. He wants to save us from this system and tells us not to go with it. In the outro he just says out what kills him in this world. What he really feels about it. In the chorus the system takes his dreams soaks them in petrol, puts them into a bottle, burns them and trows them away... I think, but I´m a german idiot so: CORRECT ME!!!! |
