Listening to the motion of the lyrics is like watching the gerridae on a gently lively pond, grittiness and all. Though looking into the music as anything more than a surface for the lyrics to glide on is pretty futile in strophic form. It's an updated folk form, so the lyrics carry the wieght of the meaning. I don't know that I trust these lyrics, but something I've thought a lot about is the title.I think it's a colloquial corruption of "tickweed," those weed-like flowers that litter rural highways. |

I just listened to it really intently. It sounded to me like "I recall (ed?) what you said last night I want to board my own age Cut your eyes in the halflight, Get me aboard my own age." I haven't checked anything offiacial, you might've. It also sounds like they're randomly throwing in consonants just to be jerks to people like us. |
