| The Postal Service – Such Great Heights Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song sounds like love! It gives you the feeling of excitement, a rush of joy! That's exactly what love is like, and the lyrics are perfectly teamed with the music. It's beautiful. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Head Like a Hole Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Sex is desirable, money is desirable, power is desirable, and religion is desirable (to many people anyway). People go through their lives being slaves to higher authorities for money and greed. I always thought it was an angry song about the powers of authority in order to get money. I think it's basically a "Fuck you" to authority and the irony of the cycle of desire. | |
| Gotye – The Only Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I thought it was about the end of a relationship. It's a combination of desire, anger and logic. He wants his partner to be happy "all the stars are aligned" but he's still angry at her, he's wishing her the best in a way, but there's still that desirable effect that the end of a relationship brings, like the partner is still clinging on but "the only way" is to let go. It's the most logical thing to do even though the other person may be fighting it. | |
| Fiona Apple – Sullen Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think this song can relate to any heartbreak situation, not just rape. Many people have gone through a situation where a male has used them, or a situation has gone bad, leaving them feeling empty. So, the person decides to hide "under the waves, in the blue of my oblivion". You kinda have to be oblivious to the heartbreak to reality, even though the majority of people that you know are aware of the fact you are hurting, or "sullen", and empty. "There's too much going on"- Too much to deal with on the outside world that it's just easy to be oblivious to everything that's happened and try to drown the situation out. Anyway, this song is beautiful, one of my favourites. |

| Placebo – The Bitter End Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I thought this song is about a relationship that doesn't feel right in the back of your mind even though you really like the person to the point of obsession. And the person is denying that feeling, and are just coming to terms with the loss, or the "end". They are running out of alibi's for each other to make the end seem better. The line "You shower me with lullabies" is an example of how she/ he tries to let him down easier by feeding him with words that make him seem like it's okay. But in the end, he realises that the boy/ girl he likes is a waste of time unfortunately and alot of angry thoughts seem to explode in his mind. Ah, I totally relate. |

| Panic! at the Disco – Build God, Then We'll Talk Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'm going through a situation where this song is relatable. This guy basically used me, and he tried to do the whole "lets be friends" thing, and i was kinda deceived by all his lies and bullshit, and he kinda said "When you're ready, we'll talk". And that made me think of this song. When you're angry, what else do you say? By saying "Build God, Then We'll Talk" it's basically saying do something impossible to make it up to me, then I can finally talk to you. I think this song relates to the way love is these days, it's not all clean cut anymore, it's dirty, deceitful and unmoralistic in the wrong relationships. I agree with the catholic references, this song is rather theatrical, it just made me think of alot of deceit, and that really comes out in the song. |

| The Killers – Bling (Confession of a King) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I thought this song was about being tempted by some sort of "devil"...there's references to like Jesus being in the desert for 40 days. It's kinda picking up where "All these things that I've done" left off. He obviously feels tempted , but he feels like he's more than that, and he's telling himself not to give up. It could also relate to other people as well that feel the same as him. He's worked hard, he's looking for the exit, he's looking for his faith. | |
| Jeff Buckley – What Will You Say Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song feels like a dream. | |
| Coldplay – See You Soon Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song is about himself. He's speaking in a third person narrative, and a first person narrative...By all means this song is beautiful, it's confusing though, a bit like love is. He doesn't want to admit his feelings to other people so he says it in a third person narrative: "In a bullet proof vest, With the windows all closed" it's like he's shutting himself off from the world for a little while. He craves to be anonymous for a little while, but he still feels like he's leaving something behind "I'll see you soon". It's kind of bittersweet, it's like he has to get away from something he hates, but the person he adores and loves is at the place he hates. At the end, he's saying the person "And oh, you lost your trust", saying that the trust in love is gone because the person has shut themselves off emotionally, and the person feels defeated in knowing that their love has given up in them, because they are leaving. Oh well, that's my spin on it, it's eerily accurate to what I'm feeling now. |

| A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. The sounds in the song is amazing, and Maynard is showing a soft side, which is rarely seen in this form. He has one of the best voices in this business. In my opinion this song is about 3 Libras (3 girls who were all equally the same) who hurt Maynard in the same way. He confessed his feelings for these girls but they didn't really care at all. Maynard maybe wanted a deeper relationship, but they just saw through him ("you don't see me"). Maybe those girls were already hurt by a previous relationship and didn't want another serious relationship ("here i am expecting just a little bit too much from the wounded"). In the video, it seems to portray a different meaning though. They see a young child, who jumps into the water. Then you see him in the womb. Then you see maynard jump into a bed with 3 girls. Maybe it was suggesting all he wanted was to feel comforted, like being in a womb, but those girls saw through him because he was famous(remember the cameras flashing at maynard?) and just wanted sex. But that's just my opinion, I love this song, it's amazing :) |

| Silverchair – Miss You Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This song is so beautiful. My boyfriend has just broken up with me this week, and his excuse was "he wasn't feeling the same way as he did before", as in he's lost the feeling that we've always had. I was crushed, i couldn't eat, sleep, focus or anything. And he felt equally as bad. It was if he lost the ability to love, and would do anything to get the feeling back. Which is why I can relate so much to this song now, to understand what he's going through. So many people were blaming him for what happened, but now that i'm slowly understand the rejection, i can understand it is hard to let go even when you've fallen out of love with them. This song points out the fact that he was sad that he couldnt "feel" love anymore, even though the girl loved him so much. The first verse hits me the hardest: Millionaire say Got a big shot deal And thrown it all away but But I'm not too sure How I'm supposed to feel Or what I'm supposed to say But I'm not, not sure, Not too sure how it feels To handle every day And I miss you love This song is so beautiful, and gives so much meaning and emotion. |
