Oh wow, that's really funny. The middle part is not right at all. Here are the words: Oh, God take this soul which I have stained with iniquity, Cleanse it, make it whole, use it to your glory! |

| Cool Hand Luke – Destroying Transduction Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"destroy the transducers" by cutting out the tongue, he no longer channeled the energy that comes from the original stimulus to bad energy (speaking against another person.) The energy stays where it was and he endures it. Such awesome imagery. Interesting that this leads to numbness. I wonder if this is the same numbing agent that is refered to in the song of that title. |

| God was calling Jason Hammil to a path that wouldn't allow for still being in the band. This song was written by the band about him when he left. | |
| Pedro the Lion – Rapture Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Here is what this song means to ME. I can be right in the middle of the biggest temptation ever-- "10 more minutes, please!!" I can succumb and go farther yet, "too far." And going and going to meet the goal. But at any point I can call on Jesus' name and it's rapture. Sexual immorality is so enticing-- so binding--and so hard to flee. And yet, Jesus is even more powerful. So to me, right in the middle of my biggest act of adultery- Jesus is right there to pick me up and take me out. And "Gideon is in the drawer" refers to them being at a hotel with a Gideon's Bible in the drawer I think. |

| Cool Hand Luke – Like A Bell Tolling From Another World Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"If seeing is beleiving, how do you know what you can't show?" Laws of logic are immaterial and can't be seen. No one can reject something on the basis of it "not being able to be seen" while living up to their own preasumptions. "Believe in what you're seeing in your heart's eyes pass the disguise" When the person uses this argument, they aren't revealing these preassumptions. |

| Cool Hand Luke – Target Form Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Imagine an Informant who's sole purpose is to snuff out the childlike faith of a believer. This song is written by the believer who tries to put to words the message of the Informant. "we are little kids" -->The Informant is older than the writer of this song. "making grown up decisions" --> "grown up" in contrast with who they are. "Laughing at the undertow" --> The informant tells them that if they place their hope and stability where the grown ups do (wealth), they will be happy and mock those who still value friends and principles and Jesus. "we define our youth" --> Jesus doesn't. "and soon our dreams will change" --> The Informant reminds them that their dreams aren't caused so much by their belief in Christ, but that they are caused by their youthfulness. The rest of the song goes just like this, with more messages that they should grow up, sell themselves out, forget their friends, not pursue their dreams, and not have childlike faith. Target Form is a faith-less, dream-less, true-friend-less, Jesus-less rich American. |

| Cool Hand Luke – Two Pianos Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think the title of this song has nothing to do with the words, but I'm not sure. It seems to just be referring to the two pianos that duo the whole way through this song. "Love your skin, and drop the K" Beautiful!!! "Drop the K" refers to gold. When you "drop the K" you put in other materials that aren't worth as much as the pure gold. It goes from 24 karot to 14 karot or something like that. When we allow something else to become our love (our skin/self) we don't have as much purity of heart. Their website has scripture verses for lots of these words. |

"just like the man from chapter three" (Genesis chapter 3), he's referring to Adam who tried to hide from God. I love the humility of the first verse of this song. |

| Cool Hand Luke – Debating The Axiom Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love the title to this song, because whether or not you accept that human life starts in the womb determines the rest of the argument. This song is such a great representation of the silent death we are surrounded by. |

| Cool Hand Luke – 10 Or 40 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
To me, Most people have some sort of car they drive in and praise God while they're doing it. If you're in school, it's college life. If you're working, it's your job. If you're in a band, it's that. To me this song is about following God and knowing that I should always take his lead whether or not the job works out, the homework gets done, or the crowd approves. Being ready to kick the window, walk through over the dashboard and get on after the failure. The imagery with the feet getting cold is awesome and is a humble picture of how unsettling the uncertainties of life can be. |
