'Theres no room left to make ammends by'. thats such a powerful line and i think this one line makes this song what it is. This song reminds me to never let the sun go down on my anger. If i get in any form of argument, i make ammends right away. |

I always saw this song as a prelude to Steps Ascend, which is about him getting in a fist fight with his best friend, going on vacation, and coming home to find his friend had been shot to death. I was far off the mark, this time. |

Growing up in North Jersey, I can definetly relate to this song. Although I haven't been directly effected by suicides because I'm not in public school, most of my friends experience it and I can definetly feel the tension from it. Growing up 'in the shadow of the new york skyline' is definetly weird, because it makes you feel so small and meaningless. Its one of the few places that make you feel that theyres more to life than you've been experiencing. Theyr'es definetly something different about Palisades and the area around it. You can just feel it when you drive through. It comes from being so close to NYC. It almost makes you feel like something's missing and makes you realize that something's wrong with the world. I'm just letting you know where Rickly is coming from. I'm telling you what he experienced everyday growing up. |
