Fuck you is said in the essence, not of abuse, just more exasperation that she can't have them (that they're taken). I feel as tho this song is about a 19yo girl having an older friend who has been where she has and is much wiser. I only think this because I'm 19 and have a best mate in her early 30s.
However it definitely makes more sense to see it from the mother perspective.

It's quite possibly about a death of a loved one, but for me it's about the end of a close relationship/even friendship.
That's how I relate to it. I had a very close friend, things got intimate, and I wanted her so bad. Even when I knew nothing could happen, I would dream and dream. Hopelessly.
So for me its about something I cant have, but have had before. And it just won't get out of the mind. |

The lyrics have no hidden meaning, quite obvious. Although never been a huge fan of the pop-punk, I found myself buying this album because I can relate to some songs to a certain degree. This song makes me happy, makes me sad, reminds me of the only girl I've ever felt truly attracted to (yes Im a chick). We were great mates, but we don't get to see each other as much now, but "I'd do anything..". |

I believe, as it makes sense, and I have also heard this, that Scar is about Missy's sexuality (either bi or lesbian).
"A triangle, trying to squeeze through a circle" - she can not fit into the mould of being straight
"And she told me don't trust them, trust me" - her acceptance of females in a relationship as opposed to the male gender
Overall, if not clearly written in the lyrics, the general vibe of this song is her emotions/journey/whatever about being gay. |
