| Tegan and Sara – When I Get Up Lyrics

Tegan was talking about how she used to have anxiety issues when she would get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. She would walk out to the living room and just freeze, unable to make it to the bathroom or back to the bedroom. She said her girlfriend started walking her to the bathroom at night and it became a regular thing, even after they moved. So I think "When I get up so do you, when you get up I sleep right through," is talking about that. |

| Tegan and Sara – I Take All the Blame Lyrics

This is my favorite of the two B-Sides on the EP. It has the usual quirkiness of a Sara song, which is what I love about her songs.
I think this song is about someone having good intentions and trying to help, but when things go wrong they will admit they've wronged even if they haven't, since they just want everyone to be happy. |

thrwmyhrtawy, i believe that the line "SOS to my mother, take the hinges off the door" is talking about how her mom didn't know what was going on behind closed doors. |

I think this song is about how lethargic and pathetic you feel after a break up. You know, not wanting to leave your apartment or room and you only want to hear from that one person who broke your heart. |

I think this song is just basically about the confusion one goes through while growing up, and how she was kind of looking to her mom for advice or guidance on how to handle it. |

Yeah I don't think the end is about a car crash since I don't think Sara has her liscense. I think it's a metaphor for her not being careful and then someone she was close with got hurt because she wasn't watching out for them. |

I agree with sunsetblvd that it's about the pain that arises from a break up. She probably tried to get through it herself, and then after "lying" about being okay, she finally goes to her family and friends for support. |

This song is about falling in love quickly and sort of unexpectidly. And then the relationship ends and she doesn't know how to handle it, and wants reassurance that the relationship meant as much to the other person as it did to her. |

I can't believe everyone is getting angry because this song was on some show and OH NO! it becamme popular! god forbid! I am in no means a fan of mainstream music, i haven't turned on a radio in god knows how long. Everyone who is annoyed by the fact that the OC "ruined" the song and now a lot of people know it should really take a second look at what they're saying. Who cares if you can't hold this song to yourself saying "oh i know some song that most of the population doesn't!"... it's not a big deal if it becomes popular, you should still like the song for what you liked it for when it was a cult classic. Sorry i'm ranting, but it's selfish of you all to be saying these things because more people can enjoy a song that you think you discovered or something. music is meant to be shared, and this song, or any for that matter, is not tarnished by how many people have listened to it or saw it on some show... it is still the SAME SONG YOU LIKED. |

has anybody else noticed how when this song goes "and when it all goes to hell, will you be able to tell" sounds EXACTLY like there's no i in team (the taking back sunday song) when they go "and will you tell all your friends, you've got your gun to my head" |

the first couple of times i heard this song i thought it was about growing up, because it was all about "avoiding the time bomb" and trying to stay young. and the "black coat, white shoes, black hat, caddilac" made me think of getting old, having a job, all that stuff. But now i have been persueded to think otherwise, and i have changed my mind. |

i think this song is about him loving a girl like a lot of people here think, but i think he loves her but she's so bad for him. "i need you like water in my lungs" you can't breathe with water in your lungs. it kills you. |

jesse lacey really out did himself writing this song. i think it's the most thoughtful album on Deja Entendu. they have ended your favorite weapon and deja entendu with insightful genius acoustic songs that really make you think. |
