Actually I have a copy of the acapella version. People I play it for freak out cuz it is so good. I grabbed it off Napster one day in the early years of its existence.
I think it has a mix of artists from different bands including the surviving memebers of Sublime. It's labeled as Sublime w/various artists. There are no instruments just people doing vocal versions of the instruments. Like beat box for the drum sounds, barber shop "doowaps" for other back ground fill - The the vocals go through and about half way through people start jumping with other sounds and other parts of well know songs ie- "I got a bag gotta bag it up,- I like the way your work it - Yo diggity, - "Got to turntables and a microphone" "It takes Two to make a thing go right, it takes two to make it out of site" then a member from 311 jumps in and does the lines from their big hit "All mixed Up, dont know what to do...so just get off of your ass" then it kicks back into the rest of What I got and ends with the singer finishing totally solo as the rest of the singers break it down and back off. It's really a treat to hear. I'm thinking of getting a new tatoo today from OPIE (singer LBDA) down in Sunset Beach,CA (close to the LBC) and maybe I will ask him about the song. |

Their is a new Hip Hop DVD out called BEEF. It has a lot of interview stuff with KRS-ONE. NYC undergroung hip-hoper. Started when he was young as sh*t and is still young considering. |
